Re: Columbia 2011!
So... I have no idea what CLS is doing with my application. My stats are well below the median and I only applied after strong encouragement from my grandfather. I thought, what could it hurt? I've been complete since early November and still haven't gotten rejected. Pretty shocking unless they have just totally forgotten about me.

Somebody on here mentioned leveraging more scholarship money from Columbia using acceptance elsewhere... please elaborate? I have questions.

Re: Columbia 2011!
Acceptences at HYS might get you money. More realistically, if you get money from another T14, send it in to Columbia and they "might" match. I sent in all of my competing offers. At the very least, it won't hurt you.neonx wrote:Also interested in this.angua wrote:Somebody on here mentioned leveraging more scholarship money from Columbia using acceptance elsewhere... please elaborate? In at H. What do you mean by "send in" and how is the polite way to go about it?HugerThanSoup wrote:Acceptences at HYS might get you money. I think a couple of people posted email acceptances in the Forgotten @ Columbia thread.moxiepostulate wrote:So it looks like there was an email acceptance posted on lsn today. Movement perhaps?

Submit 1/4/11
Complete 1/10/11
Held 2/25/11
I know this is probably somewhere in this thread but what does held mean? Is it a waitlist? Is it like an extra review process?

Re: Columbia 2011!
Second one is closer to correct. They're basically holding on to your application so that they can compare you against the entire applicant pool, and get you a decision by April 22nd (at least that was the date in my letter). You might still get reserved (i.e. waitlisted) or rejected, but it's better than being reserved right off the bat.powerlawyer06 wrote:Submit 1/4/11

Re: Columbia 2011!
Anyone have thoughts on submitting a LOCI while held? I plan on visiting a class early next week and would like to add a LOCI to my file. Is it a bad move to submit more material without actually being waitlisted?

Re: Columbia 2011!
I submitted a LOCI and LOR after being held...I don't think it could hurt! Plus it seems like you'll actually have substance since you plan on visiting.Tinkerz Belle wrote:Anyone have thoughts on submitting a LOCI while held? Re: Columbia 2011!
Just submitted my LOCI today. Considering how many of us are held, I figure at the very least I want to keep my name in the hat. Waiting 'til the end of April is going to be harsh....

The wait is killer. I'm gonna use the better part of the weekend to fine tune my LOCI to get it in asap.moxiepostulate wrote:Just submitted my LOCI today. Re: Columbia 2011!
Going to the east coast over spring break for a law school tour. I penciled in a "visit CLS" day, so hopefully they'll make a move on my app after meeting me in person! Or hopefully they don't ding me before I get out there.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
