who are you referring to? you don't know other parts of people's applications (softs/recs) and how those factor in so looking at the numbers does not justify saying they should or should not have been held. I know people who got into Columbia this cycle with worse numbers than some of the ones in that spreadsheet...it's not all about the numbersr6_philly wrote:A few of them should not have been held.law_monkey wrote:Thanks absolutazn! It looks like they are holding some splitters and reverse splitters in case they need just a few to bump a median up?

It is generally accepted that an index below a 4.2 doesn't stand a chance. I know that I have an index around 4.1 - that is what he is referring to.Fate wrote:who are you referring to? you don't know other parts of people's applications (softs/recs) and how those factor in so looking at the numbers does not justify saying they should or should not have been held. Re: Columbia 2011!
Someone's already in with a 4.1, so softs are definitely being taken into consideration. But this is scary!!! Maybe this means the other emails will be going out soon so at least we can all end the madness and move on.thelaststraw05 wrote:It is generally accepted that an index below a 4.2 doesn't stand a chance. Re: Columbia 2011!
There was already a sub-4.2 index admitted somewhere back in this thread, I believe. Numbers are a major factor, to be sure, and it might be that they're usually the biggest factor, but I think there's been evidence on these threads this year that the TLS community sometimes treats them as the only factor and is repeatedly shocked when they're not.thelaststraw05 wrote:It is generally accepted that an index below a 4.2 doesn't stand a chance. exactly...TLS acts like numbers are the only factor and they're not by any means. If they were, someone with a 153 LSAT would not have been accepted at YLS last year, but this person got in and even if they had a 4.0 gpa they should have been an auto reject....

1) Go here: http://www.lawschoolpredictor.com/wp-co ... ograms.htmNon-Chalant1 wrote:I still don't know how to find out my index.....
2) Enter in your numbers
3) Find the row that says Columbia and the column that says SCORE.
4).....
5) Profit?!
Edit: column is labeled score, not index.
