Re: Columbia 2011!
I already posted this in the ED thread, but would like to hear from all. any inputs is appreciated!
"Just got an email from the admission, says:
"In reviewing your application for admission, the Admissions Committee would like to receive clarification regarding your decision to take a leave of absence from XX College in the fall of 2009 and work for XX Corporation in XX. What were your motivations for taking the leave? We appreciate your enthusiasm for our institution, and we look forward to being able to continue our review of your candidacy for admission pending this outstanding matter.
Best wishes going forward....."
Anyone received anything similar to this???
Any idea on what this means? A soft ding/defer?
thanks!"

Re: Columbia 2011!
Maybe they're just worried about your commitment to your education. I doubt they want someone trying to take a year off in the middle of law school. Just explain it. It may even be a good sign they're asking this. If they had already written you off, why would this detail matter?masson wrote:I already posted this in the ED thread, but would like to hear from all. any inputs is appreciated!

Re: Columbia 2011!
Oooooh I'm jealous. I would definitely take this as a good sign. Michigan sent me a similar email asking for clarification on something and I got in quite early in the cycle. Think of it this way, they wouldn't ask for additional information if they didn't want you, pending further information.masson wrote:I already posted this in the ED thread, but would like to hear from all. any inputs is appreciated!

Re: Columbia 2011!
Has anyone sent in their fall semester grade update?
My reply said "Dear Max" even though I am not Max . I think they have a standard reply to fall grade updates and forgot to change the greeting? Perhaps someone here is max?

Lol, I work in an administrative position where I have to send out mail merges all the time and I routinely make this mistake - screwing up the email/name lineup in the excel so everyone gets called something else...jdstl wrote:Has anyone sent in their fall semester grade update?

Re: Columbia 2011!
Did anyone with "admit" or even close to that numbers, that is still in UG, not get a fall grade request? Also does anyone have a link to the decision date spreadsheet? Also with the fall grade requests did they specifically request that they be sent directly to them?
Sorry about all the questions, new to this thread.

Re: Columbia 2011!
The e-mail asks to send your fall grades by e-mail (ie. unofficially) and then send your transcript when it becomes available.BeachedBrit wrote:Did anyone with "admit" or even close to that numbers, that is still in UG, not get a fall grade request? Re: Columbia 2011!
I have good numbers for CLS (not auto-admit, but above both medians), am still in UG, and have not received a grade request.BeachedBrit wrote:Did anyone with "admit" or even close to that numbers, that is still in UG, not get a fall grade request? The Columbia RD decision date spreadsheet is here: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key ... zZoP#gid=0
and the thread with all the decision date sheet is here: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 2&t=137012 if you want to tag it.

Thanks Eskimo! Good luck, one more question: are you at a top UG? (just trying to figure this out as I didn't get one either)

I am at a large state school in a shitty state. Definitely not a top UG.

Based on the gap in decisions on LSN for last year, probably not. NYU, however, should continue notifying . . .daisyduke wrote:Any chance that we could hear anything this week?
