You have to apply for Need Access too, which is an electronic form that most lsaw schools require anyway. Check out their website. You pay a one-time fee of $28 (I think?) and just like the FAFSA you can make changes on it after you've done your taxes.bendurnotes4me wrote:If we want to apply for financial aid at Columbia before we're admitted just in case - is it just the fafsa we have to fill out or is there a separate application at Columbia? I'm so confused by all this!

If I want to send an LOCI after my application was put on Hold, should I email it to admissions or send it snail mail?

Hold out the hope. I haven't gotten anything yet either. I think CLS may legitimately have no idea what to do with us.CastleRock wrote:Congrats.wsjch05 wrote:IN! via email

were you on hold prior to this acceptance or had you not heard anything until this email from CLS?

yup, it was the first time I heard anything from them since "complete" email.
I wasn't expecting anything until March, and really didn't expect to hear decisions from them via email,
I was planning to write them a letter of address change as I'm taking off to Korea on the 19th.
I guess they realized that relying solely on snail mail to notify international applicants is just inefficient.

Re: Columbia 2011!
I'm really tempted to do this, too, but they say on their LSAC instructions to please refrain from sending additional materials (except for grade updates, etc.) when waiting for initial decision, but that LOCIs are welcome after notification of hold or reserve.thomas345 wrote:If I want to send an LOCI after my application was put on Hold, should I email it to admissions or send it snail mail?

I suspect you're going to be admitted very very soon, CastleRock. Until I learned that you're an international applicant, I was slightly worried about you -- with today's notification, I really think you would do best to sit tight for another 2-4 weeks.CastleRock wrote:I feel like they're just ignoring my existence.

CR, if you hadn't already called and asked, I'd have assumed your decision email was lost in your spam filter.

Holding tons of people kind of works as a discrete YP process, no? I would think that many people withdraw because they already got into better/their first choice by April.CastleRock wrote:Historically there are no trends of CLS YPing people. To the people who got in: congrats!!!
To CLS: If you're really confused about us, then at least send us a hold so we know you have seen our app. Although a real decision would be preferable. Awesome, thanks!

Re: Columbia 2011!
I know people have said there were holds last year, I haven't really looked into how many people CLS typically holds. Holding is definitely a means of YP, it just doesn't seem like this is that normal for them. Again, everything I am saying is baseless.sarahlawg wrote:Holding tons of people kind of works as a discrete YP process, no?
