Re: Ohio State 2011 Applicants
OSU has always confused me in this regard. Our football team alone banks something like $250-$280 million a year in profit. How does that not find its way to cheaper tuition/cost of living/new buildings (those of you in Columbus will remember the architecture building fiasco) or anything like that? I know a lot of it goes to club and non-central sports (a good friend of mine is on the skeet team and they just got all new Nike uniforms and guns) but should Moritz really have to rely solely on the Moritz grant to fund things like scholarships? Not entirely fair. But who are we to judge the ways of Gee and the board...2014jd wrote:TommyK wrote:Lwoods wrote: I also think it could be an issue of appropriating money from a very large budget system. I would imagine that if the law school wants to increase their scholarship pool they must request funds be appropriated from the university's budget at least a year in advance. And that would probably involve a campaign to convince university officials that the extra money is necessary. This is purely speculation, but thought I might contribute my $.02

I hurriedly faxed mine in yesterday along with completing my FAFSA. Here's hoping I can even afford to attend...still waiting on scholarship info.

Thanks for the reminder on the aid form! ps. I just talked to the fin. aid office on the phone and you can email the form to them for speediness! (he said they actually prefer email as opposed to mail/fax)

I tried that earlier in the day, it kept bouncing back to me. Maybe I have the wrong email address? Can anyone post the proper email address. I have already mailed it by certified mail, but it'd be nice to get it in faster.nicole88 wrote:Thanks for the reminder on the aid form! ps. boo. I wish they would put that information on the form! I faxed it while bitching about the inefficiency of fax/mail vs email. (I didn't want to be looked down upon for not following directions).nicole88 wrote:Thanks for the reminder on the aid form! ps. Oh well. They just got my application via fax. Twice. I'm thinking I'm not getting anything because they want you to include retirement assets. We'll see, I suppose. I don't feel particularly entitled to need-based aid but figured it was worth a shot to ask.
In other money news, apparently there was also an "unprecedented" number of applicants for the Moritz Merit Scholarship this year. Sad face.

Dear OSU,
Please send me your decision. Good or bad. I can take it. I really like you, but if the feeling is not mutual I'm ready to let you go. I just want to know so I can move on with my life.
Love,
