Missed this earlier; congrats! Think you'll make it out for an ASW?

Maybe...I've already spent a lot of $$ visiting law schools back east. Does anyone know if they possibly give a travel stipend?

I just spoke to somebody in admissions and unfortunately this is a No...

Dear Ohio State,

Please send me an acceptance e-mail soon. Making me squirm with anxiety is making me edgy, and upsetting my fiancé.

Warm Regards,

Sherlock

So do they pay for the hotel for Friday AND Saturday night for the ASW?

Looks like it, but it wouldn't hurt to call to confirm.

Just got an email telling me about how to apply for residency and offering me an extra $8000 over 3 years to defray OOS costs if I can't become a resident during 1L. Anyone else get this?

Just registered for the March 4-5 ASW. Looking forward to seeing some of you there. Also, I am another OSU undergrad and can probably answer any questions about the area if they haven't been answered already.

A lot of things about Ohio State can be linked to your LSAT/Numbers. Review time is one of them:

168+ usually = 2-3 weeks
165-167 usually = 4-5 maybe 6 weeks
162-164 usually = 6-9

and so on and so forth. Just a rough guide of what to expect of course, there are exceptions to every rule. But the day I applied I kind of figured it would be around mid-feb before I heard anything either way.

In via e-mail this morning! 164/3.63/TFA. Went complete on 12/8, so it was just over two months. How long did it take everyone to get scholarship info?

Congrats! I was accepted 2/7 and I'm still waiting for my acceptance letter and potential scholarship info. I suppose that doesn't really help answer your question though.

I second this. And it can be extended further. I applied last year with sub-25th numbers and it took about 11 weeks for the ding.

I was accepted 1/31 and got the scholarship email 2/4. Not sure if that's typical, though.

I was accepted on Jan 12. I got my rather unexpected 8500 a yr scholarship info about three weeks later. It made Ohio State that much sweeter in my eyes. Hopefully you hear good news soon.

I think I am in a similar situation as you were last year. I have a 158 LSAT and a 3.61 GPA, so basically my LSAT is at or slightly below the 25th percentile and my GPA is right around the median. Based on observing past OSU applicants with similar stats, it looks likely that I will get the ding.

At the start of this cycle, Case Western was my #1 school (see me avatar haha) because I felt it was the best school I could get into. But, as the cycle wears on, the more and more I really want to go to OSU. I'm a third generation alum. It is something that's hard to explain but the school is such a big part of my family's life. Being able to go to law school there would make my mom and grandfather probably die from excitement (they almost did when I got in for undergrad for God's sake haha). Okay, so moving on from my OSU diatribe...

I got the "We will make a decision by March 15...this isn't a waitlist but it really is..." email in January. I really want to let them know that I'm strongly interested without sounding desperate. I think I'm looking for something in the middle of a LOCI and a supplementary "Why Ohio State" type of essay, but I'm not sure what that actually would sound like. Any advice (and not just from the person I'm quoting, but all you future and potential Buckeyes)?

Thanks in advance,
AVB

AVB - have you considered taking a year off and re-applying next year? I rarely give the advice to retake the LSAT because it tends to be echoed so much on TLS without any real thought, but three years is a long time to spend wishing you could have gone some place else. If you could just nudge it up a few more points, your chances will skyrocket.

Also, the difference in COA between Case & OSU (at sticker for both) is around $20k/yr. Could be worth your time to stick it out, raise the score, and apply again.

I'm sure you've considered this and wasn't the kind of earth-shattering advice you were looking for, but something to think about.

Already took the LSAT three times. I'd have to wait until December to retake. I am already seven months removed from graduating and it's been a really difficult stretch. I love saving money and still not having too much responsibility, but I feel like I'm stuck rather than progressing for the first time in a long time. There's no way I can take another year off to study for the LSAT again and do this for another year without a guarantee of knowing I could do better. Three times was enough. The LSAT was just a nightmare for me.

Fair enough. Why would you have to wait until December to retake, though? If it's the two-year thing, you can just get a school (and most schools will) to sponsor your fourth attempt. If you're burnt out, you're burnt out; I dig that and you know your limits better than somebody on here will. It just seems like the path of least resistance to get into your dream school, which is not that far away from where you are numerically. Good luck on your cycle.

Congrats! Our numbers and dates are very similar. Hopefully that means I don't have much longer to wait.

Thanks guys! This whole thing has been monumentally stressful for me :) I'm sure everyone here will be looking at some acceptances very shortly as I didn't have to wait NEARLY as long as anticipated (I expected Feb 24-March 4 window given my numbers...)
