So, the survey app for the wait list is broken. We are working on it now. You can email me directly if you wish with your decision, but the survey should be back up and running soon.

Edit: Should be fixed now. Please let me know if you run into any trouble.

Dean Pless do I have to wait for the admitted package to access the admitted students website?
I attempted to Log in with my status checker ID and password but that did not work. I'm really excited I was admitted to the UIUC Law School!

Dean Pless,

Just want to thank you again for your transparency throughout this process. I just withdrew from the WL (I suppose you can guess who I am now...), but I really have been impressed with Illinois from start to finish. Your taking the time to keep us informed has been invaluable in a process that can often be stressful and confusing. So thanks again, and I hope U of I continues its success.

Rejected. I wasn't too confident filling out the application anyways. However, I did get a scholarship to SIU...so options still exist.

Ok, this has to make you smile.

So this morning, I got a rejection email from Dean Pless.

Then, I kid you not, I check the mail this very same day and there is a big packet from Illinois. I open it and it is a letter from Dean Pless inviting me to apply

plus information about the school.

Haha, it certainly made me chuckle and has put a smile on my face.

We haven't sent out any mail solicitations for applications in 5 years. All of our CRS communications are via email. The only packets we send out are if you ask for a viewbook via our website.

I didn't mean to infer it was candidate referral service correspondence. Just that the timing is ironic and that the letter solicits an application.

My application went complete and ready for review on January 18th, but the status checker isn't showing it as "in review" yet. Is there usually a delay between files going into the review and it showing up on the status checker?

For questions like this I really need to look specifically at your file, which I understand you may not want to give up your anonymity. If you email admissions@law.illinois.edu we can check on your status for you. (Someone from my team will, not me, and therefore you can still remain anonymous on here) It might be a day or two for a response. Everyone in the admissions office lives in the country and will most likely not be making it in to the office today.

Still don't know about decisions this Friday. I am at home today, trying to read files but also entertaining a 3 year old. May be later in the day on Friday. Stay tuned.

Wanted to give everyone an update. Decisions will go out tomorrow, but won't be released until after Noon. No new files will be heading into review next week. I will be out of the office for a few days on LSAC committee work and we will also be working on the Open House and a few other projects. We will move the next batch of files into review on 2/11 with decisions on 2/18.

Decisions will be coming out in a few minutes. 68 Admits, 39 W/L Offers, 169 Deny. Good luck to everyone. As I said earlier, no decisions next week. Next round will come out on the 18th.
