I really hope these are all acceptances, but a UF acceptance is going to make my decision infinitely harder to make, which I wasn't prepared for at all (I really thought I'd get waitlisted or something so I never considered what I'd do if I got accepted).

Does anyone know how UF is with scholarship negotiations? I would love to be a Gator for so many reasons, but I can't justify paying OOS sticker when I have substantial scholarships at higher ranked schools. (This is all assuming my letter is an acceptance, of course, so disregard if I end up rejected :lol: ).

Having to wait another day.... :x They seem to be serious about the 5-10 day wait.

For those of you still on hold for a decision, do you have a "fees" table in your Status Checker page? I have one with orientation and seat deposit lines and can't remember if that has always been there or not.

argh, I wish I hadn't checked my status on the 25th. I had only checked it once or twice before, but now I am all anxious and shit. as;dlfkj

They better throw something my way in scholly - being over both 75th and already getting serious cash from better schools makes this simple

hmm I would say that if you don't get any money you can always share with them your other offers and see if they reconsider...

Hey UF people. I just graduated undergrad and am considering UF Law. However, I am leaning towards leaving. If I do, I have a beautiful 1/1 apartment a few blocks from campus. I pay 550. If I don't resign it will go up to 650. However, if someone here is interested, I could resign, transfer the lease and lock in the price. PM if you might be interested and I can keep you up to date as the cycle goes on. No roommates FTW!

Yeah, understandable. Being from Florida, when I hear 'Florida' I only think of UF itself, not the state. If they want tax law though, UF is still a great bargain.

Thanks UF! That e-mail you sent me about making sure to apply to other schools was very helpful. I mean sure, you could have sent it out to your applicants three months ago when it would have actually helped, but no. And who the hell doesn't know that anyways? Seriously? WTF

Here is what it says:

Why Apply to Multiple Schools

LSAC and UF Law advise students to apply to multiple
institutions, in order to have multiple options. As the
LSAC recommends, “flexibility is a key word in the law
school admissions process.” For instance, “don’t set
your sights on only one law school and one plan of
action.”

Apply to several schools so that you have options in
case your plans change. Keep in mind that you are
applying to law school a full year prior to enrollment
and many things can transpire during that year. Your
best bet is to devise alternate plans so that you can be
ready for any changes.

According to LSAC’s records, the average applicant
applies to four or more schools. LSAC recommends
that you apply to more than one law school where you
think you could succeed. Evaluate your strengths and
preferences when choosing your schools.

Here are some factors that you might consider when
deciding where to apply:
1. the size, composition, and background of the student
body;
2. the location, size, and nature of the surrounding
community;
3. the particular strengths or interests of the faculty;
the degree to which clinical experience or classroom
learning is emphasized;
4. the nature of any special programs offered;
5. the number and type of student organizations;
6. the range of library holdings; and,
7. whether a school is public or private, and the cost of
education.

You might also consider a school’s retention rate and
mentoring program, or the student organizations
available for students of your particular interest or
ethnic background.

My numbers are definitely what UF wants. I'm under the hold thing, like most other people.

WTF is going on? I've been "File Reviewed - No Decision Reached" since 12/effing/7. I feel like I'm applying for a CIA security clearance or something!

Can you ask how open they are to scholarship negotiations? Thanks! Enjoy your visit!
