Don't think that quite pans out. UF is already higher and if it increases by the same percentage, it will not only still be higher, but be higher by a larger amount.

That is wrong. UF has already made their estimates for next year. FSU was holding out. They will both be about 18,500 next year.

Do any of you Gainesville natives know what taxes/surcharges are applied to the cable/Internet bills? I saw that cox offers a deal right now for basic cable and a higher end Internet connection for 56 bucks and I was wondering what other fees I would be looking. Thanks!

When do classes start? I saw on the website that classes start August 22nd, but on the Admitted Student Newsflash at the bottom it says August 19th. Do 1Ls start earlier? Orientation starts August 16th, btw. I think I'll email them to ask about the start date and post the answer here.

Edit: just noticed the 19th is a Friday, so I'm sure it's probably the 22nd after all.

Attention everyone having difficulty signing up for the FOOTBALL LOTTERY:

When I followed the instructions to sign up, it said my email address wasn't in the system, so I had to call the ticket office who input my name and email address into the system and said that I will be ready to sign up tomorrow (it takes overnight for the email address to update).

So if you are having problems, do this:
1. Call 352-375-4683
2. First menu press 8
3. Second menu press 2
4. Third menu press 2
5. You'll finally reach a CS rep. and just tell him you are a new student trying to register for the lottery and you tried to follow the instructions, but it wouldn't recognize your email address. He'll ask your name and your email address to update the account.
6. Wait until the following day and follow the instructions here:
http://www.gatorzone.com/tickets/students/?p=footb/new
7. You'll need to click "forgot password" and enter your email address and a password will be emailed to you.
8. Follow the rest of the directions.

That's funny because I was kinda favoring section 1 since your last class of the week is 1 on thursday and then your done!

That's funny because I was kinda favoring section 1 since your last class of the week is 1 on thursday and then your done!

I didn't really bother looking at the times, but I think I'd rather have a smaller class for Crim Law or Torts than Professional Responsibility. You're right though, Section 1 wins hands down based on times. Ok ok I want Section 1 now haha

What does this no laptop section mean??? They require us to have a laptop as part of admissions so I get confused when people keep saying that!

That makes more sense. I had heard rumors of an entire section that wasn't allowed to use laptops in class. That struck me as pretty unfair.

Why does section 1 have resp A and B, 2 crim law A & B, and 3 torts A & B? I'd rather take more of crim law or prof resp than torts lol. By the way, I am REALLY impressed that we don't have to be there until 8:40 at the earliest and only 3 days a week! Awesome.
