Really? Personally, I liked con law, but even if you don't, there didn't seem to be nearly as much material as other subjects had.

No, like, seriously.

I guess it's probably like anything else, I just would rather not deal with that.
I was always surprised how many law students loath con law. I think it's cool/important to know it, so we can be well-informed citizens. Also, besides, so much of it is irrelevant for the final exam--you go over chains of cases that were subsequently overturned. You don't get that in many other courses!

Stinneford allowed laptops for Con Law and Crim Law last year. Mashburn allowed laptops for Civ Pro last year. That doesn't mean they'll do the same this year, but we'll see.

Jacobs didn't allow laptops in Crim Law last year. I wouldn't expect that to change.

Klein was considering banning laptops for Property, but we argued against it. I'll be interested to see what she does.

And Harrison for Contracts = Amazing. I took his Law and Economics class this summer. I would have preferred him over Davis for Contracts.

Wow, I'm shocked. She was REALLY against laptops at one point.

Yeah I was going to ask this. I found some very cheap prices for books that are already marked up, but I don't know how much harder that is going to make it to use them.

Is anyone thinking of taking advantage of that 10% off bundle/coupon from Wilbert's? Or does anyone know if that's actually a good deal?

I think it really depends on the person. Personally, I prefer little highlighting, but I've had books with major highlighting, and it's not really that bad. Besides, most of what is in the book you won't have to know; you learn from your outlines/others' outlines. Most books are casebooks, and you learn the law from them, but most of the "stuff" is not pertinent to your final exam.

It's easy to read, and although it's a very large book, Lidsky didn't cover most of it in class, so you don't have to read as much of it as you might think.
The Chemerinsky treatise is pretty much the only supplement I am keeping. It was pretty useful for some other classes, as well.
Yeah, it really IS good. I actually kept that one.

For section 3 the classes are back to back except for 1-2pm free. If you have a 10am - 11am class and an 11am - 12pm class right after how do you get to your next class without being late?

The classes are only 50 minutes, not an hour, unless they have a different specified end time. So you will have 10 minutes

For books: How can we order them before we get our loans if we don't have the money? In undergrad we were allowed a specific amt to use before they dispersed but could only use them at 2 places.

Barbie, you can defer payment at a couple of bookstores around town until you get your disbursement, although they'll probably be more expensive that way.

You'll be fine! A lot of the professors are solid, and I've heard good things about the ones I don't personally know. Don't fret anything...you'll have plenty of time to do that in a few weeks!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
