Yeah, probably because you're in-state and it's full tuition. I think there was only one poster above who received full OOS tuition.

Congratulations! That's awesome.

Nope, actually states "$120,000...to be divided equally over three years..."

Congrats on the full ride. :)

Don't undervalue the difference here. The full ride obliges them to credit you the full tuition every year, regardless of tuition changes. Stating an actual value numbers allows them to charge you more by raising tuition and thereby diluting the scholarship value. This is what happened to me. 10k on 24k sounded pretty good, 10k on 38k not so much.

Makes sense. Thanks for the insight.

In at 105k over three years. Was not initially a top choice, but this will be very hard to turn down.

I probably won't be accepted, but are they simply sending acceptances to their top candidates right now? It seems like everyone getting accepted now is getting ridiculous amounts of money. I would love to be in the same boat, but it probably won't happen.

I've looked through the thread and couldn't find an answer to this question...

were decisions mailed to permanent or current addresses?
Thanks!

Are the numbers in your profile accurate? If so...nice try.

Edit: I apologize for the sarcasm! Maybe they really are making it rain...

Not to continue the doubt, but we are talking about the same IU right? Bloomington?

Yea, they are. I am pretty shocked. I don't see anywhere else coming up with $$$ like this, but we'll see.

Similar numbers, similar scholarship. IUB's making it rain.

i have better #'s than that with the same scholly, but am grateful. IUB went from literally an afterthought (was debating even applying) to right on the top of my list. even if i pull a reach school, i don't know what to do now. a lot of my friends and family are telling me this is the smart choice unless someone like emory matched it.

I really apologize if I sound too skeptical, but I never thought schools would pay big $$$ for splitters..is there anything about your apps that stands out as unusual? URM?

I'm only asking because I'm tremendously curious about how the application process works, and what IUB is going for here :) .

wow I will be applying within the next few days; with similar numbers, I am hoping I get nearly as much help (despite being a late-applicant and splitter  )...........Congrats!

Looking at LSN it looks like anyone with a LSAT 166 or higher gets a full tuition scholarship.

$120K isn't full tuition.

You can't write "full tuition" in the scholarship box. I imagine that many, like myself, just approximated 40k for 3 years.

Pretty sure those 120ks indicate full tuition. Correct me if there is somebody who mentions "40k for three years".

120k isn't full tuition - some people say they have letters that say "full out of state tuition"

My scholarship is indicated as "$120,000...to be divided equally over three years..." Those who received full tuition likely had the wording of full tuition in their letter and have said as much in this thread. On LSN they probably post $129,000 or something in that range.

The distinction is important, as pointed out earlier, because full-tuition, in addition to being a few thousand more first year, also allows for the scholarship amount to increase should tuition increase. The set amount does not.

I now apologize! I will correct my LSN to reflect the exact amount. Seems slightly odd they would offer scholarships that are so close to full-tuition.

I should have looked through the thread initially, I only didn't because I'm on dial-up internet (home is a scary place, folks) and that would take forever haha. Congrats to everyone!

3.4 and a 165

I was hesitant when I first applied but now I am hopeful with all the news about scholarship money being offered. I got the complete email on 11/8 though so I am a little worried because others who received the email on the same date have heard back already.

Anyone see the other thread around here that doesn't even put Bloomington in the top 50 when it comes to hiring? Who else does that worry?
