A flood of high GPA/so-so LSATs today. It looks like they got their LSAT quota. Wow. Kind of surprised actually.

I am a little curious though... what kind of scholarships are they offering you guys?

Yeah, it says nothing about a scholarship in the email, so I don't know, but I'm not expecting much, if anything. E-mail mentions that an admit packet it is on the way though. I suppose something could be in there.

I'd be interested too. If you wouldn't mind pm'ing stats/duration on waitlist/money I'd be greatly appreciative.

Are you URM? My LSAT was close to yours, but my GPA was a lot higher, fwiw.

Edit: I also have close ties to Indiana.

Yeah, I avoided answering because I didn't want to be the bad guy... but you're below both their medians. That's kind of the death knell for applying to Indiana this year. Not even URM is going to help.

whew. I am nervous! For some reason, I wasn't worried about IU at all, but now with all this money they are throwing around, I am super duper nervous. I was planning on pursuing a dual degree JD/MPA at IU and I already got into the grad program. SO, my question is.....if I dont get into law school this year with a 158, 3.6, in-state application...should I study to take the LSAT in June with the intent to improve my score and my chances of getting scholarship money? Then re-apply early decision in the fall?

I got in with similar stats. But it depends on the strength of your overall application.

Well that makes me feel better. I feel like I have a pretty strong application...undergrad experience, post-grad experience, etc. So I guess I will just have to wait. (Sigh) I hope I get as lucky as you! I would love any kind of scholarship money. :)

The acceptances over the last few days seem a little random numbers-wise, but the fact that they're still throwing money around is encouraging. I've already send 2 LOCI's, so hopefully it will help.

Anyone else sending the once-a-week note (per the waitlist letter)?

The batch yesterday seemed to be mostly URMs and this one might be high GPAs. I'm guessing like danquayle said, IU has reached their LSAT quota and now they're trying to round out the class.

I was waitlisted the day before Christmas, and got in today with 5k a year. 160, 3.85. No stipulations on the money.

So, anyone holding a USN&WR ranking release party on Monday night?

Will IU move? Up? Down? How much? Why?

Discuss

(This could help me get through another unproductive Friday at work).

I'm prognosticating up. They have been attracting a lot of very qualified applicants, who in the past would have went elsewhere, with the money they have been offering these last two years. I presume this will pay dividends in the rankings.

Yeah, but not until next year. Their class rankings from last year were identical from the year previous.

So, where do you think IU will rank? Top 30? Top 25?

I'm guessing around 28 again.

Went to the recruiting dinner in Salt Lake City two nights ago. It was pretty great. The food was excellent and was an all-around good time. I definitely walked out of the restaurant more solid on going to IUB. Interesting side note: Dani said that the class of 2014 is going to be around 180, much less than the 250 1L's this year.
