The 90k and the full tuition scholly called "the Hutchinson" are available to anyone who has applied for admission w/o extra apps. I am mailing my "Sumner's" app (tuition, books, fees, stipend) today. Here's hoping.ebo wrote:Did you apply for any of the scholarships? I think 30k a year is the most SMU gives besides full tuition.Burgstaller04 wrote:I really want SMU but it's gonna take 90k+ in scholly money to do the trick. Otherwise, you will find me in burnt orange next year.

Apparently they like the LSAT and their median is 164...I would think you're in good shape, based on LSN data from previous yearssimontemplar wrote:I'm glad I'm not the only one who is refreshing their status every 20 min Any predictions on a 2.85 but 170 lsat?

Ok, I've legitimately checked the online status thing 40+ times today, and it's not even noon yet.

Re: SMU 2011
this was probably already posted, but the only thing your status checker will tell you is if you have a "decision rendered" or "application deferred" or something like that, meaning you got put into the regular decision pile.
Then you get a call or a letter.
I didn't get a call until about a day after i saw my status changed.

+1 and I even got my sister to change my password so I couldn't check it. However, she uses the same password for everything, so I guessed it on the first try. Self-restraint fail.ebo wrote:Ok, I've legitimately checked the online status thing 40+ times today, and it's not even noon yet.

Re: SMU 2011
I've gathered as much information as I think is humanly possibly on this, and it seems that SMU updates its online status checker later in the day. Yesterday's decisions were posted on here around 5pm CT, and last year people started reporting seeing Application Complete dates being updated to the current date around 7pm CT. Might mean nothing, but who knows?

Maybe it means I should go do work and not check the status/TLS every hour? Who am I kidding?
But yeah, you're right. It seemed like people had the date-change later in the day on Tuesday last year.

Well that makes me pretty nervous. Sitting on a 164, but a 3.38 gpa. This wait is a killer.
That was good for more than $20K /year for me.
Worse GPA, too.

And do you mind me asking if you're an URM (I am not, just trying to see how we compare)?

Me too. Studying at Oxford would be insane, however, I don't really think the classes seem very practical for my interests (business), and I have no idea how housing woud work with a wifey and child...SrLaw wrote:simontemplar wrote:While we are all waiting...is anyone else interested in SMU's summer program at Oxford?

But still, I'd probably try to make it work...

I'd be interested as well; however, I'd have a hard time justifying an additional $8,000 in educational expenses for 1 or 2 classesAP-375 wrote:Me too. Still 11/1 here. I even got a call from a weird area code and felt excitement, but...nope. Maybe tomorrow.
