Do alot of corporations/businesses in the Dallas area look kindly towards a SMU law degree? I would not mind entering the biz sector after law school if it worked out.

That would be a mild understatement, to say the least.

So corporations and businesses do look kindly on SMU law?

I don't know if I'm late to an awesome party here, but SMU just rocketed up my board with this:

Between that and 5 Guys, I'm definitely excited (also my whole family lives in DFW, so there's that, too, I guess).

Guys. Two words. Burger House.

By next December you won't even remember what in-and-out is.

Let's bag on what other people like and start an internet fight about a burger chain!

The fact that I want to do public interest instead of going into business / corporate law gets me looked at oddly at SMU. Or it may be the lazy eye, not sure which.

Yes. My TX family swears by it. Unfortunately in Chicago, I have to rely on 5 guys. Not for long!

Mmm yes. When I worked in Addison, I was so stoked that they put one up right over the tollway. Lunchtime success.

Consider this a unilateral offer to anyone who goes to SMU next year, on the condition that I also attend. I will take your to the Freebirds at Lovers/Greenville. If there is a world-wide energy crisis and no gasoline, I will carry you there. If The Day After Tomorrow happens and Dallas is converted into the North Pole, I will rassle up some of the chocolate labs running around HP to form a dog sled and ride there Iditarod-style. It's that good.

OK, so they just put in a Freebirds near my house in San Antonio. I had never heard of it so I never went, and then I moved half an hour away. Do I need to get myself back over there?

Ya, it's pretty awesome.

I ate at Goff's burgers (I think?) when I visited SMU...which was pretty good. I've heard Burger House is incredible.

i go to burger house often because i live near one, but to say its incredible or that it rivals twisted root is ludicrous. it's just a standard burger joint that gets props because they get your order right and because mustard is default over mayo.

LOL! Everytime I go to California my family always says "OMG, you have to try In-N-Out, it is the best burger in the world!" I always eat the damn burger, and think it is rather lame as far as burgers go. My sister just moved out there, and I asked her "What is up with the In-N-Out fetish in Cali?" She said "You have to understand, this isn't Texas. They aren't used to good burgers out here; it's the best they have."

Goff's has small, average burgers and astonishingly good onion rings.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
