I wrote a WHY ND and a LOCI that stated ND was my top choice. Damnit.

Hang in there to everyone still waiting.

I'll be withdrawing in the next couple of days, which should free up some scholarship money as well. Good luck.

We just received from OCS the current list of employers signed up for our OCI in the fall. If you want it, PM me (I don't want to post the whole list on here).

Just withdrew :'(. NDLS has been my dream school for two years and is the reason I forsook accounting but I couldn't justify the debt (I'm coming out of undergrad/grad school with mucho debt). Tuition at Notre Dame is 43,335 while another school is 9,980.

Good luck to the rest of you.

Sticker at ND looks like it would be around 185-200K. That is steep.

Speaking of which, I'm totally getting ignored on that scholarship negotiation. Will likely call back tomorrow, utterly shocked if I get anything.

cost of living is high at ND also unless you're willing to live in the South Bend community or get one of their fantastic RA positions, which are open to law students beginning their 2L year, offer free rent, free meal plan at the #1 ranked cafeteria in the country, and pay 14k a year. additionally, like many other midwestern schools, but particularly ND, you absolutely need a car.

How did you word it? They are the nicest and most open non-intimidating admissions office of any law school I've communicated with. They are soooooo honest (a rarity), and really want what is best for you.

That's good to hear. I just wrote that I'm extremely grateful to be granted acceptance but a merit scholarship would play a very important role in my decision. I cited a competing offer and requested additional consideration. I really made every effort to sound polite and not entitled to anything...I'm hoping that they're just busy and haven't gotten to look at me yet.

I would imagine they are considering your request. It seems unprofessional to "flat out ignore" any request an applicant has, even if they are not yet admitted. That said, it is hard for a handful of people to make decisions on 1000s of applicants who will in essence form the entire personality of 33% of their school for 3 years. I would imagine the collective importance of this overrides your request for now, particularly when they have to really decide the fate of 1000s in the next few weeks (you can't say on April 19th, "hey, pay in 5 minutes or you're done.")

I'm 99% sure I'll be heading to W&M in the fall, so I hope you get my spot (and scholarship $)!

It was tough turning down ND, but since W&M will be cheaper and I want to practice in the Mid-Atlantic, it seemed like a more logical choice.

No disrespect, W&M is an excellent school, but if by Mid-Atlantic, you mean NY then ND>>>W&M. But if you are talking VA/DC (which I'm not sure is considered Mid-Atlantic) then obviously W&M>>ND. But either way, the $$$ difference is huge so you are making a good decision.

Got shotdown on my scholarship negotiations. I still have no clue where I'm going to end up in the fall, but the odds are slim it will be ND. PM me if you want any details.

Same, also just heard back from the Dean today. Even a modest scholarship would have done a lot for me, but I don't think I can justify attending at sticker.

It's been a fun ride but I guess ND isn't for me. Hope one of you guys get my spot. :)
