Certain schools kind of scheme people

Post by Generic20101L » Sun May 30, 2010 6:22 pm

By making tuition 45k, and offering lots of 15k a year scholarships, the person thinks they're special and is still plopping down 30k with the real chance the 15k goes away after the first year.

Just FYI

Smart by the schools though

And by certain schools, you mean all schools that offer merit aid, right?

I was watching a "True Life" today on MTV called "Im a Gambler" and one of the gamblers was torn between becoming a professional gambler and going to Southwestern Law School. He ultimately decided to move to Vegas and pursue the road of a professional gambler, but what struck me was that he was seriosuly considering giving up a lot of money and the opportunity to be a pro gambler to attend a Tier 3 school. He seemed like a bright guy and was a good poker player so it was disappointing/surprising that he couldnt get into a better school.

This thread should be brought up again in the winter when students are on here and applying to schools and getting offers back from them. 45K for tuition...fuck me ITE I want that school to be at least a Top 10.

...but my mom said I was special! Besides, I'm going to be a lawyer. Doesn't that make me even more special?

A real gambler would've taken Southwestern

Ha. I bet there was at least one scene where his parents acted like he was throwing an assured affluent future away by not going to SW Law.
