Thanks for doing this, Nancy, and good luck to everybody.

Question regarding the 20-25% off the waitlist figure: Do you think that's 20-25% of ALL people put on the waitlist, or 20-25% of those who choose to remain on the waitlist? If it's the former, I like our odds even more.

It looks like quite a few people were stealth-waitlisted today. Welcome, guys.

jks: I think you're in almost every thread I'm in. Looks like we're the same flavor of mediocre.

Ha! The funny thing for me is that I am waitlisted all over the place; safeties, targets, and insane reaches (hello, Chicago!) Part of me thinks SOMEONE has to bite, but then that is just wishful thinking.

Might as well share numbers. 169, 3.5, 2 years fairly solid WE in legal-adjunct field. I feel like that is very low for NW, but I'm hoping I get in on the WE angle (maaayybbee, please!!). Anyone else want to share stats so we can get a sense of where we're at.

Seeing everyone else's numbers makes me feel like I have a guardian angel at Admissions.

165, 3.5, 4 years military (but didn't do anything worth writing home about).

I guess I should definitely stay on the waitlist then? Far and away the best school I have a chance at. Shouldn't just throw it away?

Also here now - This is one of 8 waitlists also all over the place - here is my list (i am a reach on most)
Columbia, Duke, Northwestern, Uchicago, Vanderbilt, Fordham, BC, Cornell - I honestly am so tired of waiting. and like many i gave Northwestern my all. I went and interview in march and have written almost every 3 weeks since feb 3.
ahhhhhhhhhhhh
My numbers are about the same as jchb6d - i must also have a guardian angel.
Also good work experience and hispanic

With 4 years military experience I wouldn't count yourself out. That is a hell of a soft.

Looks like I belong in here too :)

Question: can the filled out waitlist form be faxed in? No access to a scanner at the moment and I want them to get my completed form ASAP. I didn't see a fax number on the decision letter...

EDIT: nevermind, I called and they said they will indeed accept the form via fax.

I haven't written them a word since my original application.

Honestly, my alum interview went so badly (The guy actually told me he didn't think NW was the place for me.  ) I just sort of gave up hope. I am out of things to say, but I'll write a brief statement and ask my boss to write an LOR.

If you're going to ask your boss, you should ask for a CPE (as per the original "hold" letter from NU). I think it's a lot more compelling than just a general rec, because the CPE actually asks substantial questions to guide the recommender.

Where do I get the CPE form? I am not seeing it on the site.

jks289 wrote:Where do I get the CPE form? I am not seeing it on the site.
The only reason I knew about the CPE was because I had originally looked into applying to the AJD program.

http://www.law.northwestern.edu/admissi ... uation.pdf

EDIT: the above link is to the PDF, which I think is preferable for the recommender. HOWEVER, the hold letter actually linked directly to surveymonkey, where the recommender can submit the CPE online.

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=R ... 1vug_3d_3d

The downside to surveymonkey (and I can't believe NU didn't think of this) is that you have to do the entire CPE in one stretch and can't work on it and return to it later. My solution was to type up the questions into a MS Word file for my recommender, and then his secretary copied/pasted the results into the surveymonkey page. DEFINITELY NOT ideal.

Thanks! That will probably be easier for him to fill out.

I have a weak GPA and 2 years of weak WE. I'm reaaally hoping they'll bite on my LSAT and general persistence. My interview was just okay.
