They usually send tweets like this with acceptances at the end of the day so maybe not (wishful thinking?).

Ughhhhh. I wish they could write if they already sent them or not. They say "small batch" so maybe it is only 2 people getting in or something....

does anyone know if the class is full? I find it hard to believe that they have already made offers to the 20% figure mentioned in the letter... Maybe this year is different? Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone on the WL!

I withdrew my spot today. They did not allow me a deferral until 2011. I wouldnt have stayed on the waitlist but they did state to me on the phone that they do consider deferrals to applicants who get in off the waitlist on a case by case basis. I dont think pursuing my MPH was a strong enough case, so that means one of you lucky folks will be getting my spot.. probably today!

GOOD LUCK!!!

They tweeted that the notifications already went out. Looks like they weren't to TLSers, at least not to anyone who's posted yet.

I would guess taht they have a number of depositors about equal to the target class size at this point, but surely not all of them will be enrolling (ie still deciding between other schools that have late deposit dates, getting off other schools' waitlists). But yeah, it seems like a lot of people would have to give up their spot to get to that 20-25% number. And considering NU's ranking on the latest NLJ 250 placement list, I wouldn't be quick to give up my spot.

I would bet NU movement is closely related to CCN movement, which so far has been almost nonexistent. At this point, the only spots that open up are people who have second thoughts about law school this year, and those who get into a school they'd rather attend.

So unless we see a ton of CCN movement, I doubt we will see a ton of movement in the lower t13.

Unfortunately I think you're right...

but if any on the fence NU depositors are listening - NU blows!

Anyone else doubting the "we admit 20-25% of the waitlist" line?

Last years LSN shows 16 WL admits out of 147 waitlisters and 620 applicants. If the results of the rest of the class of applicants is similar/proportional to LSN (though admittedly it may not be), the waitlist would be more than 800 people long -- and admitting 25% would be 200 of NU's 272 c/o 2012 seats.

Too much time thinkin' about it today on my part, perhaps. :|

Yeah, I doubt they'll get anywhere near that figure. IIRC, they said that they've admitted 20-25% of the waitlist in previous years, but didn't say anything about whether they thought they'd do the same this year. (Not sure why they'd mention it, but maybe they always do--who knows?)

Anyway, I'm not holding my breath.

This assumes that everyone updated withdrawals, acceptances, rejections, etc.

Too early to try and read the tea leaves.

Also, I think there's major bias as to who posts their numbers on LSN, that being those with better #s are more likely to post them. I would bet there are more 170+ LSAT users than <150's on LSN, even though there are about 25 <150's for every 170+ in reality. And generally, I think one would be more inclined to report an accept or waitlist than a reject. It would follow that a higher percentage of LSN users for a given school report acceptances and waitlists than would be representative of the overall applicant pool, so I doubt there are 800 people on the waitlist. Also my guess is that the 20% figure is of those who chose to stay on the waitlist as opposed to everyone who was originaly WL'd.

I see your point though, and I also have a tough time foreseeing enough people jumping to other schools to get 20-25% of us in, even if the WL is only 200 long or something. Still have my hopes up though, can't help myself :)
