I didn't get a confirmation e-mail, but I did e-mail them yesterday to make sure they got my form. They did. No idea what the "shortened summer waitlist" is, but has anyone thought about straight-up asking them?

I called. It just means that the applicant pool is much smaller now, and they're looking at all the applications.

Why is it smaller?? Do you mean they are currently looking at our applications...? It would really make my weekend amazing if they could let us all in tomorrowwww!

According to the person who answered the phone, yes. They are currently re-looking at applications.

The pool is smaller because of withdrawals. She did not say anything about rejections...but I didn't ask, either.

I wouldn't read too much into it.

You are certainly welcome to call - she didn't ask any identifying information; I didn't offer any, and used *67 to cover my tracks!

Thanks! I don't think I'm going to call--I'd rather pretend that it means there are a lot less applicants in the waitlist pool and we will probably all get in!

There's something funky w/ NU's email. The same thing happened with my hold response, and I never got a confirm for my WL form either, but when I called they assured me they had it...

According to Twitter, they were supposedly trying to get the remainder of the initial decisions out this week. It seems that this year they are about a week behind where they were at last year, so I'm hoping for some waitlist movement starting next week!

Likelihood of movement this week must be high... I mean come on if they are going to reach 20-25% admits (as the WL letter says) they need to start soon!

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to let you know there is movement this week! I was accepted off of the waiting list this morning. I got an acceptance email. The email is a standard acceptance email (not a we're accepting you off the waitlist email). No one called me, and given Northwesterns email problems, I am just going to call to make sure its real, but I am in! Nice to start getting some love from the 6 waiting lists I am on...

Northwestern stated that they consider deferral requests off of the waiting list on a case by case basis, and since I am 100% sure Ill be doing my MPH next year first, the spot will eventually trickle down hopefully back to one of you guys.

I never sent any LOCI, but just returned my waitlist confirmation form.
