Re: Official TLS Wailisted to Accepted thread 2010
So....I have been on the KU (University of Kansas) waitlist since November. I know it's not Penn or Harvard or GULC or anything...but to me it might as well be. They haven't had any movement on the waitlist for the fall. They have had two seat deposits for admitted students and yesterday (July 30th) they had admitted students RSVP for orientation. If I don't hear anything this coming week should I just assume they aren't going to the WL???
I think out of every law school in the nation KU has been the most secretive of any. I WANT IN SOOOOO BAD!!!!!!!
I wouldn't wish this waitlist process on my worst enemy....it's ruined my summer.

You would be safe assuming that they won't pick from the waitlist. Like most schools, they probably won't tell you how many people are on the list and where you stand. So assume the worst. Consider reapplying for the next cycle. Do so very early, perhaps on the very first day that they accept applications. Consider retaking the LSAT of course. A few points can make all the difference. And consider other schools.
I know how you feel - tired, frustrated. It sucks.

Wow, two WL-->accepted in one week. Please let us know what things you did to get in.
I will be dropping from all my waitlists soon. We put an offer in for a house in LA. If they accept my offer then I will be buying a home and saying Bye Bye to Penn, NU, and Cornell.

Well....I don't want to give away too much info but basically I sent three additional LOR's and four LOCI's BUT my LOCI's weren't just normal LOCI's. I thought outside the box and showed why I thought of things NO OTHER waitlist student had ever thought to do/send. I showed them that it would continue if I was accepted (my bringing in a different perspective and thinking outside the box). They were very impressed and said they 100% wanted me to come!

The seller of the condo in Culver City, Los Angeles agreed to my price last night and I locked in a mortgage rate this morning so I am buying a home in LA. I sent a letter to Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Georgetown, Cornell and Penn this morning asking them to remove me from the waitlist. Hopefully, someone else here on TLS gets into one of those spots. I will be starting at UCLA on Monday.

Congratulations Murph! On buying a new place and starting at a great school, other waitlists be damned. Things work out exactly the way they are supposed to.MURPH wrote:The seller of the condo in Culver City, Los Angeles agreed to my price last night and I locked in a mortgage rate this morning so I am buying a home in LA.
