Dude living in LA is sooo awesome! You're very lucky.mmmadeli wrote:My stepdad called me and told me I got a thin letter from Columbia. I thought he said I got an IN letter from Columbia and I just about had a heart attack (especially seeing as I moved to UCLA two weeks ago), but no. I think I'm relieved, honestly.

Anybody still waiting to hear back? It's kind of absurd that they haven't put us out of our misery yet.
I wonder if they actually admitted anyone of the waitlist?

I don't think they've taken anyone from the hold or waitlist groups.legalnoeagle wrote:Anybody still waiting to hear back? It's kind of absurd that they haven't put us out of our misery yet.

Weird. Considering the activity on HYS waitlists--at least as much as has been reported here and on LSN--they really must have been overenrolled.

Well, just got my rejection letter. Honestly, I think it's pretty much the end of the road, and that anybody waiting at this point will probably be getting their letter within the next few days. In any case though, kudos to all of us for sticking it out this long - we clearly had something going for us if they held onto us this long!

I'm out. Letter arrived Monday after I returned from settling in new apartment in another city. SO glad I didn't put it off any longer.
It wasn't meant to be and I'm glad to finally have "CLOSURE". Will NOT put myself thru their recommended transfer process next year.

I know! It was very nice so I was proud of it, but I guess it makes no tangible difference. Still haha I am happy to know I am appreciated!

That seems so counter-intuitive! They reject you, but they write a personal note? Was it something specific to you? The only personal note I got was from Georgetown, a la, "your academic accomplishments are particularly arousing in light of x, y, and z". Although I did get a hand-written (albeit impersonal) sentence or two from Chicago, just nothing specifically relevant to me.chanchito wrote:I know! The people at Columbia were more sociable than people here. I am coming back to NY for the weekend and hope to go out and have some fun with you guys. Anyone planning a meet?
