Are scholarships binding?

Post by mrm2083 » Fri Mar 26, 2010 6:42 pm

I accepted a scholarship that never said anything about withdrawing apps or attending other schools. It basically just said I accept the scholarship. I got into a school off the waitlist and will probably be attending it and wanted to make sure the scholarship is not binding. Am I safe if the letter never said anything about withdrawing etc?

This is an interesting question. I imagine you would be save, as you violated no agreement, but I would be interested to know what others think.

If you are unsure, I would clarify the stipulations with the respective admissions office. That being said, I would assume it's non-binding.
