2 Questions about Seat Deposit Deadlines/Scholarship

1. I've heard that sometimes a school that has offered scholarship $$ will, slightly later in the cycle, increase their initial offer. My question though is, do they do this even after your seat deposit deadline has passed? My understanding was that once the deadline passed, you lost the seat permanently.

2. What would be the best way to go about negotiating a scholarship increase in this situation: Cardozo has offered $25/yr, Brooklyn also $25/yr, and New York Law full-ride, CUNY $0. I would think the NYLS offer is a weak chip to use, since it's ranked beneath Brooklyn and Dozo. Would my best approach just to simply call/email Brooklyn and Cardozo and say to each that the other has already offered x amount and that "I'd really like to attend (insert the school I'm addressing) but that for (insert whatever reason) the scale is tipped in the other scale's favor?? Not quite sure how to play this. Seems like since both schools offered the same amount it's tricky to leverage one's offer over the other. They could each just call my bluff and hold fast. Any thoughts?

Thanks

somewhere out there, there's a thread on how to do "trickle down" negotiation. start with bls first, tell them about nyl's full ride, and then once you hear from bls, go to cardozo with that...
