I may have to withdraw or defer admission because of family obligations. I hope one of you guys will be able to get my spot.

Thanks. My mom's ill so I'm either going to take the scholarship to GSU and stay in Atlanta or defer admission for a year. I haven't decided. I'm 27 & I really don't feel like waiting another year. We'll see.

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear that. Wow you are lucky to have gotten into both UGA and GSU - Waiting an extra year isnt that bad, I think its good in some way that hopefully when you graduate, the economy would have picked back up for better job opportunities

Wake Forest.

It was down to those two, but Georgia was 3.5k a year cheaper.

Wake finally decided to give extra 2.5k a year... so, meh, not much of a diff between 45k and 48k total tution.

Honestly, if area had not been a factor, I probably would have chosen UGA, its a great school.

Im just from Va and would like to stay on/near the east coast/ atlantic region.

Just called the Admissions Office today and was told by someone (didn't give her name, so I can't be sure of who) that they are likely not accepting anyone off the waitlist this year. Could be that I just don't want to believe it, but could be true, too.

Anyone else here had a similar experience?

I called a couple weeks ago and was told they would not be going to the waitlist until the end of June. They may have expected more people to withdraw by now and that may have something to do with the change. Hopefully a lot of people withdraw between now and 6/15...here's to wishful thinking

So, now that the seat deposit has passed, do you guys think we'll see some movement off the waitlist in the coming weeks? Or has everyone pretty much decided that ship has sailed?

They were over-deposited by about 90 people after the first deposit, so as of right now I'm pretty sure they're just praying the same amount of people don't make the second deposit.

a $250 deposit doesn't exactly break the bank, but it IS a lot more than the initial $50 deposit. cross your fingers, folks!

UGA will review waitlisted applicants for the 2010 entering class! It is advised that no calls,emails or any additional information is submitted. I received this information per female answering the admissions main number..... Time to send the prayers up!

Thank you for posting this info. Did they say when they would start contacting waitlisters?

Hey guys, just to confirm what was previously posted, I visited the law school today for the first time and essentially received the same message when I asked right before leaving. She basically said that just leaving them alone and waiting is the thing to do now. She also commented that they will be reviewing the waitlist very soon and could be calling people as early as today or tomorrow, but added that she didn't really know...from what I've seen and heard some waitlisted people should be receiving calls this week...hopefully!

PS After visiting the campus I'm pretty sure none of you would enjoy yourselves in Athens so if you do get that call you might as well politely decline...

My sentiments exactly. The email also mentioned that they "recently denied admission to the vast majority of applicants who were on the waiting list," however, looking at LSN, there hasn't been anything "recently."

I got the same email. I wonder how many people are still on this list including the fine folks of TLS...

I got the email too. If this many TLSers were left, then their waitlist had to be HUGE for him to be able to say they denied the "vast majority" of the waitlist.
