To be fair, I sent most of my apps in in January and they were just held until I got my February score. I did apply to 4 extra schools with my new score though.

I've spent this week being excited about going complete rather than being excited about getting accepted. I really hope this doesn't hurt me. 3 of my top 5 targets are splitter-friendly, though. I CAN NOT TAKE another year of working at my job.
I felt like you for 2 days, very excited with a good score. then 2 days later I get my first WL. So now the excitement about being complete is completely gone. I wish my first was an acceptance so I can keep the excitement going!
To be fair, though, you probably only got YPed at Penn. Looking at LSN, Penn is a mess of YP going back many years.

I dunno. I'd be more than happy with an acceptance at only one of the following: Wisconsin, WUSTL, Minnesota, UIUC. I qualify for in-state at Wisconsin, so that's an automatic $20,000/year discount right off the bat, and reciprocity at Minnesota. My goal is to move back to Chicago and to biglaw there, and all of the above are close to equal in that regard, with WUSTL and UIUC having the slight edge but probably costing more. I have to think I'll get into ONE of them, even with the late applications.

I think you should get in somewhere among your choices because of your new score. Maybe have to wait a bit to see who needs a lsat boost but if you ride it out you should be fine. Good luck! That new score is going to do something for you I am sure.

Everything indicate YP for me but I wrote a why Penn essay, I am from the city and I have a family here. I don't know if how they would think I wouldn't seriously consider attending. Unless they think I will be in at HYSCN which I am below median at all and it is late in the cycle. I would feel great if it is YP that means they think I can get in at those! lol

reach heavy. Wouldnt have it any other way.
that's my boy!

glad there's somebody else out there who jumped without a parachute
I applied to only 2 "safeties"--one was more of a target than a safety, two reaches, and 5 super reaches.

My best shot at the moment happens to be at one of the super reaches..law school admission is like the machiavelli quote abt the prudent archer that aims his arrow well above his goal--not so that he may hit that super high aim, but so that even tho he misses it, he still shoots high (rough and pretty bad paraphrase)

So..I try to keep that in mind with everything I do, and I believe that's exactly the rsn I find myself in this thread. Thanks a lot machiavelli.

Don't kick me out of club nowhere because ya'll my favorite, but I got accepted to my second safe this morning. It feels good to have my safes "secured" but I'm holding out for either one of my top choices...which both say the dreaded "file complete" - damn you file complete.

2 safe - accepted both
2 top choice (low reach)- files complete
5 - reaches - files complete

All it takes is one acceptance, just one stinking packet.

Amen to that.

fun situation for me, got a 155 in Dec, had already applied to Berk, retook in Feb, and applied to 16 other schools pre-deadline on the off chance Id get an awesome score (God bless LSAC fee waivers) Ended up with a 162 (LSAC 3.71)... have about 18 reaches on my plate with the real question mark being GWU PT and GMU PT because I have an actual reason to go PT, not trying to backdoor anyone  (saying that always makes me think a "thats what she said") I digress... with numbers like that an apps to chicago, duke, penn, mich, and GULC this will probably be the bloodiest bath of them all... on thebright side I got a WL to UGA, so Ill def take that as I am instate... so for reference...

0 Accept
1 Reject
1 WL
15 Pending

For reference, 1 safety.... GO BIG OR GO HOME

Honestly, in this economy, if you can't get into Harvard or Yale you shouldn't go to law school.

Third time may be a charm...there's always one more LSAT you can take and just re-apply next year. As for studying your butt off...maybe just do a lot of practice tests so you can work on your timing, strategy and confidence.

0 Admit
1 Reject
1 WL

(8 pending, though I'm not in love with most of them)

If I ever do this again, I'm going to

a.) crush the LSAT and
b.) apply at 12:00am on the first day of the admissions cycle.

I was a little naive about the difficulty of this process, having discovered the TLS cabal only after applying everywhere.

Where did you apply? I would sell a kidney for that LSAT score. No Joke.

I guess that's 11 schools.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
