LOR timeframe

Post by liljerry » Sat Mar 06, 2010 8:11 pm

My professor mailed additional LORs to LSAC exactly one week ago (on Saturday). When should I expect LSAC to have processed them by? Since the volume of LORs is probably way down now, I thought they'd be posted by last Friday and now that they're not I'm worried that they got lost in the mail or something else horrible

Give it a couple more days. Do not worry until Wednesday at the earliest.

If I were you I would have your professor fax it in.

One of my recomendors faxed it in. It took less than a week to post. The other chose to mail it in. That one still hadn't showed up after 3 weeks. I asked her to resend it. It took another 2 weeks to post. I doubt that this was a result of the postal service. I think the LSAC process is extremely inefficient. Though it may be convenient not to have to sent the LOR to multiple schools, LSAC seems illequiped to handle thousands of applicants.
