Starting from the middle of June, I count 21 TLS-ers who have posted on this thread and not yet said that they have withdrawn from the WL. I imagine there are many more hibernating (as I plan on doing once again). Good luck everyone.

I got in to Stanford off the wait list yesterday and withdrew from Michigan this afternoon. Good luck, everyone!

Yeah Sure:

The University of Michigan Law School is debuting a program in which a select group of students will be accepted without taking the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), as applicants normally are required to do.

The Wolverine Scholars Program will be open only to University of Michigan-Ann Arbor undergraduates who have completed at least their junior year and have a 3.8 grade-point average.

However, I guess the caveat is that having a 3.8 only makes you only eligible, you still have to go through an application process... Therefore other schools' programs might be a safer bet....

They've had this for a few years. Is that an old post?

Dean Z said on her blog that they had 2 deferrals this week with a third possible one today/tomorrow. Good luck.

I haven't gotten the ding letter yet but at this point I don't have any fantasies of getting in.

Also, if they're overenrolled, I doubt 3 people deferring would cause any waitlist movement.

Apparently... :?

Teoeo wrote:Ive been on email with them and they told me they are still "substantially" overenrolled. I think our only chance is that they offer some of us deferred admission. Because of this I actually applied for a deferred spot but they told me my plans for the interim year werent concrete enough :( .

Anyway, they have been a real pleasure to work with, the most pleasant admission office by far.

from the UMICH webpage: http://www.law.umich.edu/PROSPECTIVESTU ... /wait.aspx

Waitlist Updates

As of mid-August, with just a few weeks remaining until classes begin, we remain slightly overenrolled for our fall entering class. Therefore, on Tuesday, August 17, we are sending letters to all remaining waitlist participants, letting them know that we are disbanding the waitlist. It has been a very unusual summer, and while we are pleased about the talented incoming class, we are sorry for any disappointment the lack of movement has caused those who have waited so patiently.

We have very much appreciated our waitlist participants’ interest in Michigan Law, and courtesy they have shown throughout the summer. We wish everyone the best with their alternative plans!

Damn. Sort of makes me thankful that I was bumped off the waitlist a few months ago, rather than waiting for this inevitable WL ding.
