Just got home from work to see quite a bit of activity here. Thanks for all the feedback. I have some thoughts.

My PS was exchanged with two or three TLS-ers and proofed dozens of times. Way back before I even wrote a PS, I was a little worried that I didn't have anything interesting to write about. I ended up writing about how my academic journey through college (changing majors, etc) has shaped me intellectually and prepared me for law school. My LOR, frankly, are something I expected to be a strength of my application. I was quite close with both professors I used, and both have told me point blank I am among the top two or three most impressive students they've taught in their careers (both are relatively young; been teaching 6-7 years each). They are also both decently published philosophers.

Before submitting any of my applications, I printed hard copies of the LSAC "preview" pdfs and proofed them myself, followed by my mother proofing them as well. We caught little errors and there. Work experience? I would guess my most "prestigious" work experience is the three summers I spent as an engineering intern with Intel in their honors internship program back when I was ChemE. Right now I'm just a waiter in my year off. I also tutored throughout college. I don't think any of it is particularly impressive, but when taken together it does present a steady employment history with no red flags. It also shows that I had to work through college.

My first LSAT 152, as someone alluded to. That's what got me rejected at Oregon, Pepperdine, and Lewis & Clark last year. I think I also had a pretty bad PS last year, so I don't really think there are any hold-over concerns from last cycle to this cycle. NYU might be the stingiest retake school in the T14, so this might explain my "unexpected" ED rejection

Other than that, the only thing I can really think of is lack of softs. I didn't do much volunteering or get involved with many clubs in college. I don't really have much going for me other than what I present in my PS. I also regret being somewhat lazy with supplemental essays. I couldn't really think of anything to write about for optional DS statements, so I decided submitting nothing was better than submitting something contrived. I also didn't write optional Why essays for Duke, Michigan, etc. Maybe that is something I can rectify with LOCI now.

To answer one question that was posed, I used to post as Blazers4Life. In a bit of good news, I just opened an acceptance letter from USC. Things are looking up?

But yeah, in the next 1-2 days, there will be some heavy LOCI drafting for Chicago, Duke, Georgetown, and Virginia. I am also still considering sending UVA the ED contract. I feel like I'm cutting it close waiting for good news from Michigan or Northwestern....

Indeed! It must have been good karma to start this thread.

Doing well at UCLA or USC is enough to ensure top-notch job prospects in the LA market, correct? Months ago I talked myself into paying sticker at a T6 school on the premise that it's a worthwhile investment. I'm wondering if I should be wary of paying sticker at the #17 school.

Sorry, I was just trying to inject some optimism into the proceedings. There are plenty of people out there who had cycles like mine.

Even though I switched from Ivanovic to Sharapova (who just won her 21st title..hooray!), there's no camouflaging my identity, is there? 8)

Lieut, you can contact Hawkeye or another administrator to change your name.

PM Hawkeye. The outing shitshow from a few weeks ago prompted a ton of regulars to make a switch.

Nah. Managamy had great numbers, its no shocker that she did well. The worst cycle isn't some 2.5/130 retard who strikes out. It's someone with good numbers who strikes out.

The best cycle is someone placing above their numbers.

Long story, started with a tool at a test prep company and somehow ended up with a very regular poster (the one who indirectly caused the tool to show up) having a few personal things that may or may not have been true posted multiple times when no mods were around late at night. Some people changed out of fear, some for fun.
