Re: George Washington University Waitlist Pool
DC resident chiming in about the COL estimates...
I'd say room/board is a little bit high, but if you expect to live alone its pretty spot on. I live a couple miles from GW's campus and pay 985 - which is low compared to most people I know - and I have two roommates. (Utilities run me an additional 150-200/ month).
As for the metro - you can expect to spend about 2.80 / 2.90 round trip for the metro. So between 55-85 a month depending on your schedule. It may be worth the extra rent to live in foggy bottom!
I do have a room available in my house for 925/month if anyone is interested... PM me
Not trying to kill the buzz here - hopefully this info will arm you in your own housing search (because we're all getting in today).
I dont know what personal expenses includes but $3200 a year seems REALLY low to me.

yeah and food on GW campus is hellishly expensive. unless you are looking to pack every meal you are looking at like ~$9 each easy.SummerLaw wrote:DC resident chiming in about the COL estimates...

On an unrelated note, is it sick humor (or just a coincidence) that they decided to release 15-20 people off the wait list...on the longest day of the year?

Re: George Washington University Waitlist Pool
Does anyone have a feel for the GPAs/LSATs of people who are a. on the waitlist and b. have been taken off the waitlist?

Re: George Washington University Waitlist Pool
No phone call, but received a congratulations email notifying of acceptance off the waitlist. My email was time-stamped 8:02am PST, so 11:00am EST.
Check my profile for numbers, but beyond those, I did have interesting/slightly unusual softs and WE, as well as a LOCI specifically targeting their Indian (Asia, not Native American) programs. I'm sure those worked in my favor.
Other important details: formal acceptance package being mailed tomorrow and deposit due July 9th.

I'd wait until tomorrow to call. I asked about calling last week and Matt advised me that they were a little swamped - I can imagine today is about the same.nooyyllib wrote:thinking about calling her....should i?
EDIT:
Just checked my e-mail.
In - yay!
Good luck to everyone still waiting.
