Re: LSU 2010
I finished my app for graduate housing about a month ago, and contacted the housing office. They told me that I'm on the wait list right now and that I'll get my assignment in late June/early July. If you haven't already, you should put the app in and contact the Law Center because they can get you a pretty good room assignment in the ECAs.Cestjustemoi wrote:Anyone know when room assignments will come out for housing just wondering how long I have to wait to facebook stalk out my roommates. I did that and they told me I had housing now I'm just playing the wait game. I'm worried about getting bad roommates.Publius39 wrote:I finished my app for graduate housing about a month ago, and contacted the housing office. Re: LSU 2010
2 questions- does LSU have graduate housing?
Also, I was looking at LSN and it said that LSU's 1L attrition level is nearly 16% with no transfers out which I found quite disturbing. However I looked at the latest U.S. News information books and it says that LSU's attrition is only 5% and the NLJ 250 chart that came out around 2006(which is the same year that the LSN attrition rate is supposedly supposed to be for) only has LSU's attrition at about 7%. Is there some reason for this discrepency? Was that rate on LSN a typo?

Re: LSU 2010
To the above post there is housing for law students in east campus apartments. As far as LSN most of information is from 2005 I believe. It's been five years and LSU has made some serious changes, including the elimination of the summer semester. I have no idea about the attrition rate but just be cautious when using LSN to select a school.

Re: attrition rates. Keep in mind LSN has the rate for the Class of 2008, the same class that started in Fall of 05....the same semester of Katrina. Even though Baton Rouge didn't flood or anything, the city (and university) were crazy. It wouldn't surprise me that many left. I'd rely on the more up to date stats.

Just got a letter from the chancellor today in the mail, congratulating me on admission. A a few personal references to my application in the letter. Glad to know they actually put some time and effort into recruiting students unlike some schools which just mass mail pamphlets. Nice touch.

You should probably get one soon. It was dated March 1st, so they've probably been getting them together for awhile.Cestjustemoi wrote:Im in Tampa, Flo Ridamacatak911 wrote:lol, someone I talked to last night at the Nola reception got theirs yesterday. Re: LSU 2010
Has anyone gotten the RSVP through snail mail or email yet for the April 10th student day? On monday in the chat they said they would send that info out but I have yet to get it. Should I just call admissions and reserve it? I'd like to get that out of the way sooner rather than later.

So, how difficult is it going to be to come off the waitlist this year? Anyone have a feel for it?

They did say they have "very, very, very" more applications this year. SO I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.boadicea wrote:So, how difficult is it going to be to come off the waitlist this year? Anyone have a feel for it?

Does anybody know of a cool/hip part of Baton Rouge to stay in for the weekend of ASD. It doesn't necessarily have to be close to campus. I'm looking for something close to shopping and some cool, non-collegy bars with some live music.

I Stayed in the Sheraton Downtown during my visit. It was within walking distance to the bars downtown and a few of the bars did have live music. The Sheraton also has a walkway to a riverboat casino.rcharles wrote:Does anybody know of a cool/hip part of Baton Rouge to stay in for the weekend of ASD. The Hilton downtown looked pretty decent as well and was even closer to the downtown bars.

Downtown is about as close as you will get to a "non college" atmosphereEastbndnDwn wrote:I Stayed in the Sheraton Downtown during my visit.
