Re: LSU 2010
I went complete on 1/12 at LSU and am heavily considering attending if they happen to sweeten the pot with a full-tuition scholarship. LSU is a great school with an awesome atmosphere down in Baton Rouge. Can not beat those LSU football games! It is unfortunate that LSU Law does not have a status checker, and recently I have heard they only do acceptances via snail mail. A few of my friends were accepted in December but were not given any scholly info. I believe that becomes available in March or April. Not sure. Good luck.

Re: LSU 2010
I applied in October 09 with numbers well above the median, and I have not heard anything yet. LSU is tragically slow, if they want to move up in the rankings, a good place to start would be admitting applicants with decent scores right away.

Re: LSU 2010
I definitely agree. I am way above both of the 75ths GPA and LSAT; so, I thought similar numbered applicants would be gaining admitance soon but I guess not. I just found a thread from last year and from what I gathered, scholarship offers will not come till late late late late spring. It is kind of hard to make decisions without this info.

Re: LSU 2010
My PAWS account expanded in December which seems to mean an acceptance and the admissions office contacted my parents in the states to get my correct address (I live abroad) saying they wanted to send me a packet with ``information´´. Being from southeast Texas I'm a fan of LSU but I'm not too familiar with Baton Rouge and I worry about how my wife would adjust to life in Louisiana. Any information on the city, ie. culture, people, jobs, would be welcomed.

I also agree about the wait. I'm around their 75% LSAT and GPA too but I've already gotten into similarly ranked schools so it makes it difficult to decided but I won't wait until late late late spring.

same. i applied first through their own website and not lsac (mistake). they had a hard time getting all my LORs, resume, application fee etc. lsat > 75%, ugpa right below 25%. maybe that confusion is why i haven't heard back yet/my registration info hasn't expanded? i should be good to go for them otherwise, i would think.
i'm still debating on attending, however, due to the whole civil/common law issue. i want to stay in the southeast...but probably not LA.

If you enjoy good food, beer, and SEC college football then you are in luck. Being a resident of LA, I absolutely love it hear. Baton Rouge, in particular, has so many places to eat, drink, and enjoy yourself. If you want to go to LSU Law, go because of the natural of the school and not the city. Baton Rouge is awesome!

Re: LSU 2010
I got my acceptance letter last week with gpa< 25th% but LSAT>75%. I'm out of state so hopefully I will get some sort of financial aid. Has anybody gotten any scholarship info yet?
Also, to those of you wondering, the paws account expansion definitely implies an acceptance. If your account expands to include things like "law school courses" then you should be getting a letter within a week.

My application went complete 1/23. Really hoping to hear sooner than later, but from what I have been reading on here it sounds like it could be a while.

I got a full ride to Loyola and more than half scholly at Tulane. I've been accepted to LSU but waiting on scholly info. IF I can get a full scholly at LSU, the decision is going to be very hard.

It is, indeed, a good sign. Expect a large white envelope that says "Congratulations! Your decision is enclosed."
There is another LSU thread, by the way.

I also received the invite to the ASD in April which was random because I have not heard a word since going complete on 1/22. Hopefully it is a good sign that I will receive a packet in the mail soon.

I got mine through email. I thought it was kinda weird the ASD is April 10th I believe...which is after our first seat deposit is due. I'll probably try to visit on my own before I have to make a decision.boadicea wrote:movieguru873 wrote:anybody get the invite for admitted students today? is anybody planning on going to that? +1 on the accepted students invite. But I, too, have not received a letter of acceptance! Very strange! As someone else said, it makes it very difficult to make a decision about attending LSU when they are this slow. In addition, I received an invitation to apply and a fee waiver this Monday . . . 15 days after my application went complete!TonyDigital wrote:I got mine through email. hey boadicea, i'm sure you'll be hearing something soon. My numbers were above 75% for lsat and below 25% for gpa too (162 and 2.98 to be exact), and I got my acceptance letter about a week and a half ago. I went complete in early november. They'll probably be getting to you pretty soon.

Accepted yesterday via snail mail, applied on 1/6/10 so fairly quick turn around. 159, 3.54, out of state. My paws account expanded last week and the postmark for the package was the 26th. Seriously considering unless FSU or UF comes knocking.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
