Sorry guys, but at least a WL is better than a ding. If you really want to go there, send a LOCI and hope for the best. I know of plenty of people who have successfully made it off WLs, so it is definitely possible.

How many people does UNLV typically waitlist? From my understanding, the deposit deadline for those accepted already passed, correct? There is no second deposit sometime in the next two months? So, they will ONLY pull from the waitlist when those seat-depositers change their mind right?
Basically... am i boned?

Yes, the deposit has passed, but there are still plenty of people that could change their minds, as is evidenced by this thread. I am 99% sure that I will be withdrawing on Monday, and I'm sure there are many others that deposited but are riding waitlists or just haven't gotten into their top choice yet. There definitely is hope. Best of luck to you.ellebee wrote:How many people does UNLV typically waitlist? From my understanding, the deposit deadline for those accepted already passed, correct? Re: UNLV 2010 waiting room.....
Thanks for the encouraging words. I am not giving up hope, but I applied for the part time, evening program....since this program I believe will mostly be made up of 'working' people who already live here and have no other law school option, such as myself, I doubt many will withdraw from this program.
But, here's to hoping!!
I wonder about how many people are 'waiting' for a slot in the evening program???

Took them a really long time to waitlist me today as well. Waiting really really sucks. It took Villanova 6 months to reject me.c4n3s wrote:MY SITUATION:

Re: UNLV 2010 waiting room.....
I've browsed UNLV posts from years past and it looks like people are admitted from the waitlist to both programs (full- and part-time) all summer long. If you're already in Las Vegas so you're tied to the city, a LOCI won't help you as much as someone that's an outsider who has ties (though I def think you should still write one to express that you want to remain on the waitlist). My thought is, if you're willing to wait, work through some more practice questions and take some more practice tests and retake the LSAT in June. Even if you don't have much time to prepare, you may perform better for the mere fact that the test is administered in the afternoon versus the buttcrack of dawn... If you can improve your score to within their 25-75% range or better, you'll move yourself right up to the top of the waitlist...

Re: UNLV 2010 waiting room.....
I am at UNLV's 25th percentile for LSAT and median for gpa for the pt program. My application has been in review since the second week of March. I sent a LOCI this week, just to re-iterate my interest and explain a few recent developments at my job. I explained the owners of my company are looking to expand in Las Vegas. I am from Seattle, so I am an out of stater . I know they heavily favor in-state applications. What do you think are my chances of getting waitlisted? The Admissions office said they reserve around 60% of the incoming class to in-state students, but the actual composition is usually 80% because more out-of-state applicants do not decide to attend. Will my LOCI help or was it a waste of time? Any thoughts/predictions would be great!

LOCI cant possibly be a waste of time. I dont think you should think of it that way. Its certainly worth your efforts to get your situation down on paper and hope that someone takes the time to read it. But as far as a prediction...well...I cant offer any advice because im in the same boat.

There is little to no info on lawschoolnumbers about getting off the waitlist. UNLV is definitely up there for me and I would definitely put down a deposit at this point. 2.4/159, huge upward GPA trend, military, speak a foreign language. Really Really hoping I get off the Marquette or UNLV waitlist.
