Retook Sep LSAT in Dec, and accepted at Berekely and NYU with 1 LOR, for anyone who questions whether schools really mean it when they say 0-1 LOR required (which I did, but my second writer didn't get hers in until Feb SECOND)
congrats on the great cycle. i don't think your getting accepted into these schools proves or even indicates anything about how schools look at LORs. i think you -- as a URM, 171, 3.7 from Harvard -- can afford to send just 1 LOR. i would argue that it certainly helps the vast majority of applicants to send 2-3 LORs.

In at GW w/Dean's scholarship in a letter dated 2/5. Applied 1/3, complete 1/20. Already withdrew before getting the letter but after it was sent.

Jealous of Powell's rapid turnarounds at Stanford and Berkeley. Congratulations!

If it helps anyone, I've heard from Illinois, Seattle, Marquette and Indiana-Indianapolis since the last time I posted in this thread. I suspect not many on these boards are waiting on any of those except Illinois though.

powell, congrats on an amazing cycle. I never got a complete email from NYU-- what was your "applied" date?

Congrats!

I love the handwritten notes - they make me feel like someone actually read my whole application instead of just looking at my numbers.

I know!! The handwritten note made me feel so strangely happy. It made the acceptance a hundred times more awesome.

Got dinged at UT with a 3.9/170(166) and wait listed at Columbia. Still waiting on all other schools. Am I in for a bloodbath?

When did you Texas people apply? I am still not under review. However, considering the ding with your numbers, it's not looking good for me.

Dinged at UIUC today. First one of the cycle, I was on such a heater.

BTW, does ANYONE get accepted to UT?

I applied before Xmas. Am I screwed for this cycle, or is a 3.9/170 a normal ding for UT?

With numbers lower than yours, I got into Vanderbilt. That would be a peer institution I guess, so I would say no.
