Got Waitlisted, Need Advice

Post by akapur » Fri Jan 15, 2010 1:40 pm

Hi all,

Just got waitlisted and would like some advice as to how to get off. I plan on visiting, but is there any way to get a sit-down with someone in admissions on my trip down? Other than the obligatory tour, etc., how can I speak to someone who actually has some influence on my app? Thanks in advance for all your help. You guys are great!

Yep, every admissions office will have experience with the waitlist. Your best bet is to call and set up a campus visit, but be sure to sit down with the Dean or the Dean of Admissions otherwise your visit won't be worth as much. Be sure to ask the right questions about the school and follow up afterward. Also you should send a Letter of Continued Interest, and an updated transcript/resume. Also, an additional LOR probably wouldn't hurt. Hope that helps!
