Thanks a lot for that rejection e-mail. By the looks you are too cheap to spend 40cents on postage after I spent 2 weeks on your app and 2 months obsessing over your decision. Surprisingly, I'm not bitter over you rejected me on the first chance you got; after all you were a reach school and some schools that are ranked at your level or higher have either WL or held on to my app even though they've rejected people with higher numbers than mine. All I wanted to say thank you for making my life easier and taking away your school from consideration. After all, who wants to go to a school that is literally in the middle of nowhere.
Yours truely,
Wait, thankfully I'm not yours

I see you got that email too...

Yeah and I'm actually ok with that. By the looks of it they don't stray away from the medians and by doing so they might be passing over some great applicants (I do not consider myself as one of those great applicants).

Same here. It's the only ding I've opened so far that I was 100% cool with.

While I've recently made a visit to Philly, and truly believe that the people in that city are given a bad rap, I will say that pretty much everyone in that state is a horrible driver. The glorious thoughts of sitting in traffic with vehicles filled with Jersey Shore look a likes, and horrible wanna be rap blazing must now be flushed away. While most vehicles I noticed seemed to actually have Jersey tags, I find it hard to believe that they are commuting to your school. Afterall, you're not Penn. You're Penn State. I once dreamt about possibly seeing Joe Pa in action before his retirement. Let's be honest-what's the rush? :? He's immortal. I think that you should try to integrate some diversity into your student body. And by that I mean have someone in a class whose hair is not full of Aqua Net. I respect your decision to tell me "FaGetAboutit" and would like to respond by saying "the Tampa Bay Buccaneers knocked you out of your only valid shot at a SuperBowl-then we Won it  . We then welcomed you home into your new stadium by shutting you out again. Your Eagles will never win a Superbowl, so "FaGetAboutit."" :P (PS-no one cares about your Philles beating the Rays in the World Series. Baseball isn't a real sport).

Die Hard Bucs Fan and Lover of The Immense Sunshine

Thank you, you made my day

Got the Ding from Northwestern yesterday and I can't help but be a little relieved I don't have to be in a place so cold that none of my awesome outfits will see the light of day all winter long.....

Look at these apps
Aren’t they grand?
Wouldn't you think I’d be in high demand?
Wouldn't you think I'm the guy
The guy who has ev'rything?
Look at this file
Credentials untold
How many wonders can one applicant hold?
Look at him and - you'd think
(Sure) guy’s got everything

I've got top grades and hours aplenty
I've got recs and softs galore
(You want time on the job?
I worked many)
But who cares?
No big deal
I want more

I wanna be where the scholars are
I wanna see
Wanna see 'em profess
Lecturin' about oh those
(Whad'ya call 'em?) oh - laws
Checkin’ a website you don't get too far
Admit letters are needed for dreamin’, schemin’
Drinkin’ yourself silly in a
(What's that word again?) bar

Up where they talk
After it’s done
Up where they spend all day havin’ some fun
Anxiety free
Wish I could be
Part of that class

What would I give
If I could live
Outta this hellhole?

What would I pay
To spend a day
Not checking my mail?
Betcha at Yale
They would unveil
Bet they’d be on a faster time scale
Learn-ed savants
Sick o' the taunts
And their demands

And ready to know what the 1Ls know
Ask 'em my questions
And get some answers
What's a tort and who’s in the
(What's the word?) wrong?

When's it my turn?
Wouldn't I love
Love to explore that tier above?
Out of the pile
Wish I could be
Part of that class

edited to add. Sung to the tune of the Little Mermaid's "Part of Your World."

It's more of a general mood piece. Illinois dinged me earlier on, but I'm all right with it. After all, just because a guy likes corn doesn't mean he has to live in a field of it.

This was epic. Once I read the first line I had to remember the tune of the song. Once I remembered that, it flowed very nicely. Well done.

Sometime around March can we have a DING Bowl or DING Cup where we nominate our favorites and then poll for a winner?

Dear Washington & Lee,
Dinging someone after only 6 days is like openly admitting that you’re either not that busy, or not that interested. Have fun reminiscing about the golden days of the Civil war (WHICH YOU LOST) and twirling your antebellum mustaches. Oh, and the "honor" system just sounds like you have lazy faculty.

Dueces,
GOF

PS- I didn't wanna live in Western Bumblescum Virginia anyway.

(Staging note: If you have any Barry White on your computer, play it now)

Hey there NU,

You’re looking fine as usual. Can we talk? There are some things I have to tell you.

I know there’s been a lot between us. You’ve hurt me, I’ve hurt you – but there have been good times too. Remember statistics? You were wearing that hot little non-parametric test of significance, and I just couldn’t wait to show you my data. We had some fun that night. Then there were all the training sites I worked at. Do you remember my process notes? Don’t lie, you know that you do. Nobody can throw down a process note like I can. You couldn’t get enough. There was page after page of process stretching late into the morning. One time we even missed class because I just couldn’t stop.

I know you’ve said “stay away.” I know you said that you don’t want me back, but please baby, just give me one more chance. None of those other non-traditionals with WE can love you like I can. This won’t be like last time. This time I am here to stay. I know you’ll be thinking of me when you are teaching legal research to all of those other guys. Let it be me instead.

Why do you have to be so cruel, NU? Can’t you just take some time and thing about it? Isn’t there some sort of waitlist you could put me on for awhile? Don’t make decisions when you’re mad. Think this through.

No. Ok, I am too proud to beg. Well, we will always have the past baby.

It's not acutally a denial, but a WL. Really Vanderbilt? I interviewed with you (more than I had to do for any other school) and wrote an addendum for a ticket I got when I was 16 (ditto). You still can't let me in? Fine, I'm not interested in going to "one of the most expensive law schools in the country" (directly from their brochure) anyway. I guess I'll have to wipe my tears with my Michigan and Texas 1/3 schollys.
