Think it might be an issue of maturity?

I'm 20 and there are a few other 20 year olds on TLS who act nicer than that.
Your point about maturity still stands. I just wanted to say that age wasn't the sole indicator.

Wait, what?

I don't usually dislike people I barely know, but when I do, it is usually because they asked me to do so. (The-most-interesting-man-in-the-world-voice)
Oh no, I have invoked the wrath of Nulli!!!!

I don't know - he only told me his region of the world, not specific country! I'm also from over there (not Turkey). ;)

Nulli and Hypothalamus, cutest couple on TLS?

I mean, we're a Ding Bar. Some hooking up is to be expected. ;)

I still smile when I remember someone's interpretation regarding what really is going on in your 'tar. Therefore it is my duty to correct you thus: "when I am not being friend-zoned by turquoise horses".

Just stopping by to say:

Really, Berkeley? I guess I should have expected it. But after waking up in the middle of the night to an earthquake, I've gotta say that I'm glad I won't be sticking around to experience the big one you've been expecting for a while now. Good luck toughing that one out! Oh, and I didn't really want to deal with your faux-hippy-hipster bullshit, anyway.

I'm truly sorry for how you read that, I certainly didn't mean that as derogatory toward other races. When I posted that I was discussing the issue of admission/scholarships with a friend who is on full scholarship for being Hispanic, which she jokes about because she has one Mexican grandparent, does not speak Spanish and has never been to Mexico. All that was meant was that it's frustrating that schools assume that people who are ethnic minorities have had to overcome so much more that the academic bar should be set lower to just increase diversity. I have plenty of friends who are minorities ethnically but grew up in Pasadena with two parents who have graduate degrees. I absolutely did not mean it to be read the way it was, although of course I see why it was, so I'm very sorry for those who found it insulting.

Oh heck, I don't know, but it wasn't meant to insult others. Just frustration with the nature of the process. It was late, other than I was just tired and attempting to convey irritation with the process itself, I'm sorry. There's not much other than a rightfully embarrassed apology that I can give.

To be fair, y'all seem more butthurt* about the breach of decorum than I, the instigator, was about the original post.

Also, my retort was (I flatter myself) funnier than the original joke, in keeping with the sacred mission of the ding bar.

*As a member of the PC police, I am required to cite you for use of this probably-homophobic word.
