TurtlesAllTheWayDown wrote:Yo Han,

So let me get this straight, you send out a "rather large batch of decisions" and all those decisions are holds?!? You must really enjoy toying with the fragile psyches of your applicants. I am now 100% convinced that Chicago is so cold because of its proximity to the icy, icy, absolute zero sort of frozen blood running through your veins. At best, you sent out a shit ton of non-decisions without the poise and aplomb I would expect from someone in your position. But what is more likely is that you sent out a bunch of glorified waitlists. I am apparently smart enough to get "held" but not smart enough to realize I am being put on a waitlist? Or rather, a waitlist to find out in May if I am on a waitlist. You made my list of things to do, Joanne. So here is what I am going to do (and I hope everyone else does the same): I, who waited patiently for a decision and hung on your every tweet, am going to jump through every administrative hoop for you to stay on your pre-waitlist even though I have no intention of going to your fine university. I do this so that you will have to eventually grow a pair and make some tough decisions (and to make your job juuuuuuuuuuuuuust a little bit more difficult). Cull the herd yourself; don't make these fine law school applicants do your job for you by withdrawing. In or out, you decide. In the end, I hope to get accepted only so that I can tell you to shove your acceptance NUr ass.

(Sorry this isn't an official ding, but it needed to be said)

I like your screen name :) And hold>waitlist. But yeah. sucks.

The best part about this thread is that it allows me to say I want all the smart kids to fail so that hilarity will ensue, not because they are far more qualified candidates than myself and I need them out of the picture to get some admits.

So, smart kids, please post some dings... lots of dings.

So, to be clear (which I wasn't earlier), I was intending to portray that these smart kids are more qualified. The joke being that them getting dinged somehow opens up a spot for a less spectacular candidate such as myself, which is absurd. Much to my chagrin, that's not how it goes. Self-depricating humor doesn't appear to be my strong suit.

Dictated but not read,

State the obvious
Wake Forest just waitlisted me
I realize you love your rank
More than you could ever love me

So go and tell UNC
That my LSAT isn’t that great
That’s fine
I’ll tell USC I’m theirs

Cause I hate that
Stupid old status checker
You never update
You’re an overpriced diploma mill
Who’s really bad at job placement

So watch me strike a match
On all my wasted apps
As far as I’m concerned, you’re
Just a Cooley letter to burn

There’s no time for tears
I’m just sitting here, planning what to do
There’s nothing stopping me
From whoring it up at all of your peer schools

And if you come around
Trying to accept me
Just watch as I press that old
Delete key

Cause I hate that
Stupid old city where
There’s nothing fun to do
It’s a red neck, small town
With no Anthro store in sight

So watch me strike a match
On all my wasted apps
As far as I’m concerned, you’re
Just a Cooley letter to burn

And if you accept me
It better come with lots of cash
Cause Winston Salem
Is a pile of white trash

And I hate that
Stupid old law building
That’s falling apart
So your waitlist email
Didn’t quite break my heart

So watch me strike a match
On all my wasted apps
In case you haven’t heard
I really really hate that

Stupid old sticker price
Which no one sane would pay
You’re a stuck up ratings whore
Better known for your undergrad

So watch me strike a match
On all my wasted apps
As far as I’m concerned, you’re
Just a Cooley letter to burn

Burn, burn, burn baby burn
