Re: THE DING BAR
You people misunderstood us.
No one decides what is offensive to anyone else, no one has the right.
It is simple.
--ImageRemoved----ImageRemoved--
about whether you think some post is offensive or not, this thread is not the place to discuss that.
Make a thread about that, but, I will go out on a limb here and guess that:

Just as a word of caution, I think this is ban material on here. We've been warned about arguing the virtues or lack thereof of the URM boost process. I know that you did not intend any harm but apparently this is known to be incendiary to the point that it's banned.shroeder wrote: redacted

Can I get the tl;dr version? I'm guessing someone bravely pointed out that minorities have it too easy?

That was only one of the last posts, which might as well have been bait.Rawlberto wrote:Can I get the tl;dr version? I'm guessing someone bravely pointed out that minorities have it too easy?
People were going nuts over much more insignificant things for the last 20 pages or so.

Can we have a ding bar-style thread against individual posters?

Re: THE DING BAR
Since I've somehow managed to screw over the ding bar with a single post, I'll clarify and perhaps people will move on. The post was not meant to belittle other races, it was not meant to suggest that white people do not get in because of URMs, thats ridiculous. It was meant to imply that being a URM increases chances of admission exponentially .. It was a comment on the notion that the raw number standard is changed based on ethnicity. Thats just the way it is. I realize it wasn't funny, that would be because it wasn't meant to be, I had not previously read the ding bar- my mistake. I apologize, I suck, I'm a mean lady. Go back to your ding bar-y activitiesNulli Secundus wrote:That was only one of the last posts, which might as well have been bait.Rawlberto wrote:Can I get the tl;dr version? DING BAR TUTORIAL/TEMPLATE
Dear [fill in name of school that rejected/waitlisted you],
[In this section you can list the reasons that above school sucks and the reasons that you would not have attended had you been accepted. There are varying approaches to this (some seemingly offensive, but nonetheless, this is the ding bar) but in the end you will have to get a feel for what feels right for you. The key to that is posting something that vents your disappointment and frustration while bringing humor to the many other rejected law school candidates. Do not be worried that you may offend others, many butts may be hurt. Just try to keep your post on point and as funny as possible!]
Sincerely,
[your forum name]

I have to read the fine print of insurance policies on a regular basis (work-related) and in my expert opinion, this is true.stillwater wrote:This is quite possibly the worst thread ever now. The worst part isn't the "bigotry" or the "PC police" (though the PC Police are just unbearable), it is that nothing is funny and that for every chuckle worthy slice of content there is pages worth of shit that reads worse than the fine-print of an insurance policy.

Dear UVA,
I'd prefer to go to a school where the guys don't refer to themselves as bros. You know, a school where getting iced and wearing pink popped collared shirts with aviators are not things. Also marathon beer pong. Fucking boat shoes.
I can't be with a man who owns boat shoes.
COME AT ME BROS.

As a man who owns boat shoes and enjoys beer pong, I am highly offended and will be reporting this post to the mods.kennethellenparcell wrote:Dear UVA,

TIL:
Racism is fun/funny. People who call someone out on it are whiny.
If a minority says it, it's not racism. If a woman says it, it's not sexism.

Re: THE DING BAR
I think you mean to say, making fun of racist people is funny. Racism itself, not so much so. Or at least it's because I assume the former makes Sarah Silverman such a successful comedian?zxcv22 wrote:TIL:
