Hey UVa. Waitlist? O.K!

When I was in college, a girl I knew socially but who I wasn't even remotely into sat me down and "rejected" me. She told me that she valued my friendship but didn't want to go out with me. It was both strange and desperate. I also happened to be hooking-up with an incredibly intelligent and beautiful person at the time.

That kind of reminds me of this situation. UVa, I'm sorry to hear that you're rejecting me, but I've got better options. Much better options.

Dear Notre Dame,

Thanks for waitlisting me. This way I didn't have to go through all the trouble of withdrawing via phone call or formal email. I only had to click a button and avoid all of that Catholic guilt that you'd be certain to heap upon me. Plus, while you were at it, you'd probably tell me that I'm committing some mortal sins of unknown origin.

Oh, and if you want to tell me that my no-strings-attached full ride to your fellow 23rd-ranked, Indiana-based IUB isn't really to a peer school, I just have to point out that you were ranked 28th in the 2008 rankings, and that South Bend is a festering rust belt craphole just as bad as my native Rockford....which I have since escaped.

Dear UT,

Thank you for doing me a favor of not having to move to that concrete cess pool of a town called Knoxville. It is full of uneducated white trash sidewalk fans who think a nice dinner is the buffet at one of Golden Corral's 21 Knoxville locations.

Some of you guys are so smart. The rejection letters you got from some of those Top Tier schools will probably be worth more than the J.D. I get from wherever I get to go. Dang :(

Dear Emory,

Your GA bar pass rate isn't as high as UGA's, You're not worth your sticker price, and the vast majority of your student body is a bunch of east coast wannabes who couldn't get into good schools farther up north. On top of that, you give money to less qualified applicants. Your loss.

Sincerely,

Thebigmediocre

Dear GMU,

I never actually liked you, but you offered to take me out for free drinks and I went along with it. It didn't work out, but I appreciated that you rejected me via a letter. I thought it was kind, unlike those other school who think an email will suffice (What ever happened to manners?). You are a true gentleman.

Regards,

Scarletlady

GMU is funny because although I graduated from GMU undergrad with a 3.9 they rejected me. And yet they want me to donate to the alumni assocition. Right....thats gonna happen. NOT!

Haha. I actually grew up in La Verne. Nice small town. Quiet and beautiful.

But don't sweat the law school. Academia-wise, LV will always be in the shadow of next-door neighbor Claremont.

Dear Georgia

I only applied because I find girls with southern accents very sexy. But I've had your peaches and believe me I've tasted better!

Btw I'd really feel like an ass going to Georgia football games decked out in orange and blue. Glad I can avoid that now.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
