Clearly, I am very much painfully pining for a JR1, but my realm of delusion aside, I think its reasonable to assume that there are going to be a fair amount of JR1s in the next few weeks. What I don't understand is why it is taking so long and why they need to string so many people along. HLS waitlists an insane number of applicants, like 10 times more than they could ever need. Why? there is really no reason to do it, they could easily cut their waitlist in half and make many people's lives much easier. they waitlist hundreds of people for months that they must know for certain they will never end up admitting.

someone needs to give Harvard a teacup pig to practice on.
As I wait (most likely in vain) for a JR1, I am reading Melville short stories, and I just read Benito Cereno. Haunting and amazing, if racialist.
I've actually never read it. My name is a reference to a writer who happened to be a big fan of the story.

Benito Cereno is credited. By far Melville's best writing.

Dude, Bartleby can take a swift kick to the testes and I don't care if he'd prefer not to.

Very well played. 176 (the LSAT you would've needed to crack HYS).

I quite enjoyed Billy Budd. And it also serves musically.

Agreed on Harvard and Yale. As for Stanford, I think it's clear my LSAT score isn't quite proleish enough for Palo Alto and I could benefit from dropping 2-4.

Hilarious.

Best Melville character=Pip after he goes insane.

And yes, no Stanford for me, and not even a hint of Harvard. I'm desperate for a Stanford admit within the next week before I visit my 'rents out west, so I can impress them and visit the campus. It's looking unlikely, though, as Tuesday has come and gone.

Usually more movement on Fridays, though Stanford has admitted virtually no one since Feb. 1.

Well and BioE and anmo, but it's like 4 or 5 people on TLS in the last seven weeks. I think that's less than Yale. Gotta be close at least.

I expect a lot of movement out of Yale and Stanford these next few weeks.

Who knows what's going on with these Harvard holds, though.

Has anyone's status changed post-hold?

I'm UR with a 2/16 status date (also date I was held). Assuming it just stays UR until you get a JR2/WL/Ding...

I think UR is the last update; I don't think it updates for a decision.

Recently held. I don't get it. Why not just tell me where I stand. Ah, Harvard.

In November I got an e-mail from HLS encouraging me to apply. Like a fee waiver, but they didn't waive the fee :? . It included a bunch of links to school related stuff. I was just curious how many that got that letter also got held... Now I am also curious how many got that letter?

Before anyone asks, I am not a URM.
