wow! Perhaps you guys should write a diversity statement on being a huge nerd and send it with your LOCI? Maybe throw a couple of Dragonball Z stickers on the letter for special effect.

Columbia's enrollment deadline is May 1, not April 1. Unless this is for something else?Hattori Hanzo wrote:Joining the club with Qs: the email says I may want to let them know about upcoming deadlines for other schools. I have an April 1st deadline for Columbia. Should I mention that in the LOCI?

Yes Butler's deadline is April 1st. The acceptance letter doesn't mention anything like "I will withdraw all my other applications" so I am wondering how binding it is.crackberry wrote:I think he got a Butler FWIW.BenJ wrote:Columbia's enrollment deadline is May 1, not April 1. You should definitely contact them about this. My guess is you can get out of it if you are eventually admitted off the Harvard WL, but definitely make sure with CLS about that.Hattori Hanzo wrote:Yes Butler's deadline is April 1st. Ditto this. Going by the regular letter and information, Columbia gets really annoyed about multiple deposits (to the point of rescinding your acceptance) but will just shrug their shoulders and sigh if you deposit but don't go. I would call to make sure that holds for Butlers.crackberry wrote:You should definitely contact them about this. Hi all,
Joining the club. I got the hold e-mail on 3/4, and while I'm actually thrilled about it, I was quite surprised to see that they are still holding this late in the cycle. Best of luck to everyone!

Re: Held By Harvard Club - 2010
LOCI and LOR posted last week. Abroad so I had my recommender e-mail it directly to them. Thanks for that link a few pages back, I can't decide if I should be hopeful or give up hope, especially after the level 3 super sayin numbers that have been held. Maybe if I add a note to Harvard that says, "Harvard, I choose you! Go!"
N.B. - Living in Japan you have no idea the amount of random manga stuff you pick up. Take the 11 year olds powering up, add that they are yelling in Japanese, and then coming to attack you because you're the gaijin. It's...interesting. That and the kids who just stare at you in admiration or fear.

I noticed the talk of DBZ in this thread, and I just had to say...
Vegeta is the best
Broly was the scariest, most bad-ass super saiyan
And DBZ is the only anime that actually sounds better in English than the original Japanese.
Good luck to all those on hold. I hope you all get in <3

Re: Held By Harvard Club - 2010
Quick question everyone:
So I just sent my LOCI on Friday and it included a mention to being nominated for the top academic award given to one student in each graduating class. Well today I found out I won the top academic award for my major - economics. They haven’t given out the top award for each graduating class yet. So still in the running for that too, but it won’t be awarded until late April. Should I mention this in an e-mail or just let it go??
Congrats to the new admits.

I'm happy for all of today's JR2s, but they're depressing me a little (a lot).

I guess we could, but at least 2 holds (if not more) got in today alone...MTC87 wrote:can we just assume that the whole class is already filled and holds arent getting in.
