question about additional LORs....
HLS requested that everything we send to them be signed by us. How did people make that work with LORs? Did you just ignore it and have your person send the LOR directly to HLS? Did you have them send it to you and then YOU sent it to HLS?
Thanks!

Re: Held By Harvard Club - 2010
I had my recommender sign a sealed school envelope over where it was sealed, so I couldn't open it. Then I signed the front of the envelope on the bottom left and put my lsac number below my signature. Not sure if this is exactly what they wanted but my LOR is up the day after they got it with signed Yes.AdmitMePls wrote:question about additional LORs....

I included it in the same envelope with my LOCI.

You can also submit the additional LOR through LSAC as usual. I assigned an additional LOR a few days ago and it showed up on my status checker today.Kakarot wrote:I had my recommender sign a sealed school envelope over where it was sealed, so I couldn't open it. Re: Held By Harvard Club - 2010
this is copied and pasted from my post in the harvard thread, i figured it was more appropriate here:
interesting tidbit. 09-10 cycle on LSN shows 122 outright acceptances thus far, 08-09 showed ~160. if the proportion of people who report data on LSN has not changed since last year, we still have roughly 25% of the outright admittances yet to be given out. if we assume that 750 out of harvard's ~830 acceptances are outright and not off the waitlist, and proportions of LSN reporters have not changed since last year, this would mean there are still ~175 outright admittances outstanding. don't stop believin'!
p.s. it's late and i'm tired, feel free to hack away at my logic or make modifications that would make this more representative

I'm abroad and didn't even sign mine. My recommender just sent it straight to them and it still says signed: YES. Also, for my LOCI they let me e-mail it. They have been being really nice about all this. Probably because it's going directly to the trash can where I presume my application is -> -> -> -> ->AdmitMePls wrote:question about additional LORs....

I tell myself I am...but then that little glimmer keeps coming back. Oh man do I want Harvard, the name alone will make foreign service work so much easier. Sigh.Kronk wrote:tbf I've been hopeless since November. Get with the program, man.def2104 wrote:Ugggg I'm still sans JR1...I'm starting to lose hope fast.

In the Q&A on the HLS admissions blog JR said that there really isn't much difference (necessarily anyway) between JR1---> hold and no JR1---> hold. He said it was more of a coincidence of when your file was reviewed . . . take it for what you will I guess.Kronk wrote:tbf I've been hopeless since November. It's thing like this that'll make getting the ding - thanks pupp!puppleberry finn wrote:maybe there is no difference because both are equally hopeless? at this point I suspect I have about as much chance at getting dinged from harvard as boalttt graduates have of owning a prius.amputatedbrain wrote:In the Q&A on the HLS admissions blog JR said that there really isn't much difference (necessarily anyway) between JR1---> hold and no JR1---> hold. Re: Held By Harvard Club - 2010
I adjusted this to account for hidden profiles and some suggestions from fellow posters in the Harvard 2010 thread - we're looking at more like ~80-105 acceptances yet to be made. Still not bad!invisiblesun wrote:this is copied and pasted from my post in the harvard thread, i figured it was more appropriate here:

How many of you, who are held, received the e-mail from Harvard encouraging you to apply?

No, you don't get a surprise phone call. You get an email before hand from JR and in the email, he tells you the specific time he will be calling you. If the time doesn' work for you, you can email back and reschedule.Havaianas wrote:forgive me for not looking through like 50 pages of harvard threads but i cant recall seeing this...
