A Thread for People Who Just Need Good News

Since misery loves company, I thought I would start a thread for people (like me) who are just dying for news...preferably good news...but at this point even ok news would be nice :)

So...use this thread to share the woes of applications and maybe we can take some comfort in the fact that we are not alone.

Maybe this will help! I have a 168/3.6 and I have been deferred at my top three choices: BU, BC, and Cornell

Is that supposed to be good news for me when I applied to BU with a 151/3.23? I might as well killself now and end the misery of waiting for the rejection.

Here's some good news, Oklahoma City is enticing me with a full ride sholly. Should I take it or go to W&L at ticket price?

Wow, really!? Those numbers sound like you should be in outright at all 3. I'll bet you will get into at least 1 of the 3, if not all of them eventually. Just keep the faith.

that's strange. those numbers seem pretty high for BU and BC at least. They'll most likely accept you in the regular cycle, and at least it wasn't a waitlist.

I can top that though. i got 2 waitlists and 6 rejections. 0 acceptances.... +

171/3.75. Got all of my stuff turned in back in early November, but had to wait on an LoR until December. Not a single acceptance yet. Even though I applied two months ago, I've only been complete for one, and will probably have to wait even longer...

<--- 3 rejections and 0 waitlists OR acceptances thus far. (out of 13 apps) .....

I REALLY need some good news!

Did anyone else find the holidays hard, with the relatives asking about the news with law school over and over again?? I hated having nothing good to tell my family.

I could use some good news. It would feel so good just to have one acceptance in my hands. One school I applied to accepted a few people last week who went complete on the same day as me. LSN is the devil. Life would be so much easier if I didn't have other people's stats to obsess over.

I am embarassed to say that I have dedicated several hours to sorting through last year's applicants from my schools making spreadsheets of their acceptance dates so I could try to find a pattern - did most acceptances go out on Wednesdays? Fridays? What was the average # of acceptances per week?

Etc.

It's really sad.

Hey, the good news it that you've got 2 waitlists. It could be 8 rejections and 0 accepts.

I'd send a big fck yu letter to every school that rejected me.

Haha, not too encouraging as I have basically the same stats. I would think you'll get into BC..not sure about the other two, I hope we both get into Cornell though!

. . . there comes a time in every prisoner's education in which he finds that it's not so much that he's in prison, but that the entire prison is in him.

Why do your relatives think decisions come by Christmas? Even if they know nothing about graduate school in general, everyone knows that college decisions are sent in March/April.

No, I'm from Texas. Going to school in Oklahoma for a Texan is in comparison to a Catholic worshiping Satan.

I'm still waiting on a LOR. I gave it to him in October, and been kindly reminding him every week since. This is the only thing I'm waiting for til my apps are complete.
