I want in to review the same day. Maybe I will be hearing something soon, too...
But I was never asked for an e-mail, although I think "Why Arizona" was understood by my PS.

Knowing that someone got in on the same "in review date" is going to make me obsessed with checking my status checker. Sometimes these Web sites are bad because knowing too much will drive a person insane.

Received my acceptance packet today in the mail. Also included was a $20,000/year scholarship. I wasn't really considering U of A, but it is definitely in the running now.

Went to committee review sometime today. Knowing that people hear back rather quickly has got me constantly checking!

164/3.77/out-of-state. I went complete a long time ago (submitted my app late October), but was e-mailed 1/15 asking for a "Why Arizona." I responded 1/18, and my status-checker changed to admitted the next day.traehekat wrote:anothernancydrew wrote:Received my acceptance packet today in the mail. Did anyone have the answer for this?Threepeat wrote:Got my admissions packet in the mail today. $18,000/year scholly. This puts UofA in my top 3 right now...anyone know if you can claim in-state residency after the first year? From reading the residency classification on UA's website it sounds possible. Also, hypothetically speaking, if I were to claim in-state residency after the first year, has anyone heard what this does to your scholarship?

Re: Arizona 2010?
Finally went complete today. I applied with a CRS fee waiver on the 14th and didn't specifically mention arizona in my app. Will this have much of an affect?

I know for undergrad they were pretty strict about it. You had to prove you moved to Tucson for reasons OTHER than school. (There's a big immigrant population and super-low tuition for in-staters so residency issues are huge.)

Re: Arizona 2010?
Alright so my status says "Committee Review" and I just sent in per request my "Why Arizona?" email. It seems like once you sent that in there was a quick decision? Is that the case? I'm nervous now!!

Did all the admits so far have to submit a "Why Arizona?" I'm in Committee Review but they haven't requested it...

It definitely seems that way. I've been in "Committee Review" since 1/14, and they didn't request one from me, either.

Re: Arizona 2010?
Just received an email requesting a Why Arizona statement. I will probably respond by tonight, so hopefully I get a quick turnaround with a decision like some of you did.

Re: Arizona 2010?
When they request a Why UofA statement do they want something more in depth than "I want to go to law school in Arizona because I want to work, live & start a family in Arizona. I want to go to UofA because of its _________."
??? Maybe those of you who have already submitted one could shed some light for the rest of us.
Thanks a lot!

Re: Arizona 2010?
It was really simple. I wrote about a program I was interested in, my desire to practice in the SW and a little about Arizona (as a state) that I liked.swa1441 wrote:When they request a Why UofA statement do they want something more in depth than "I want to go to law school in Arizona because I want to work, live & start a family in Arizona. Mine was really simple, too. Basically the same info Veritas gave:swa1441 wrote:When they request a Why UofA statement do they want something more in depth than "I want to go to law school in Arizona because I want to work, live & start a family in Arizona. One paragraph about how I'm interested in the Southwest, and how that in combination with a specific program/clinic UofA offers made UofA a good fit/option for me. Then another paragraph about Tucson in general, and why I could see myself going to school, living & working in the area.

I'm kind of hoping to have a packet waiting when I get home today!

Re: Arizona 2010?
Mine was postmarked the day after my status checker was updated. It seemed like it took forever to get to me though! (But I'm in the midwest, so that probably accounted for the delay)Veritas wrote:I'm kind of hoping to have a packet waiting when I get home today!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
