I was going to attend the March 29th Preview Day, but something came up at work so I'll be there April 10th! Has anyone received their Financial Aid packet yet?

Nevermind! I found information in an e-mail from Kim. They will finish downloading FAFSA by the week of March 22 (after their spring break), and will begin sending out financial aid packages that same week.cLams wrote:I was going to attend the March 29th Preview Day, but something came up at work so I'll be there April 10th! Man, they don't offer anything? Even if you are as far as Chicago? Ugh, flights are steep right now. I'm still hoping to make it out and meet you all. Just curious, are most of you seriously considering U of A from the Southwest?

Nope. I'm from Louisiana. But I lived in Arizona for a few years.Whitters wrote:Man, they don't offer anything? Even if you are as far as Chicago? Ugh, flights are steep right now. My status checker said "admitted" on 3/1. But I haven't received anything in the mail... go figure.

160/3.4
My numbers are definitely low for both places, so it wasn't a big surprise.

Re: Arizona 2010?
I read in Princeton Review's top 106 (or whatever number) law schools that the faculty at Arizona was exceptionally liberal and that other political opinions weren't really welcome. Can anybody comment on this? to add a disclaimer, i read this on google books and it was the 04-05 edition, so it might not be accurate anymore.

Re: Arizona 2010?
first time posting, can't take the wait, I too have been been updated to "committee review". I'll be honest, I'm expecting a rejection. Either way, anyone know how long it takes after going to "committee review"?koeni082 wrote:our numbers match. my status updated to 'committee review' today. anyone have any insight on this?waverider wrote:Waitlisted today (161, 3.45)

My first acceptance! 162, 3.6x....nc resident, and after my WL sentence from UNC, I'm pretty relieved. Good luck to everyone else.

Did you ever get an answer to this? Unfortunately, I can't answer this for you. But I'm curious to hear what people said.atfarmer wrote:I read in Princeton Review's top 106 (or whatever number) law schools that the faculty at Arizona was exceptionally liberal and that other political opinions weren't really welcome. Re: Arizona 2010?
Just got an email recently asking for a "Why Arizona" supplement. Looking back at the thread, it seems some other people got that as well. I think I'll just put something together highlighting some programs specific to the school, and mention the region as one that I wouldn't mind staying in.
Anyone know how easy/difficult it is to establish residency in Arizona? Looking at some information online, it looks like merely being a student is insufficient for establishing residency for tuition purposes.
Rather, you have to somehow demonstrate intent to stay permanently domiciled in the state, for the purpose of working after graduation if you don't have prior ties to the state.

Re: Arizona 2010?
I visited this week. I was very impressed with everything I saw. The students all seemed very content. The career services people seemed great and had pretty positive things to say about their students prospects. The facilities are as nice as everyone has been saying. If you're on the fence about attending, I would visit. I loved it.

Re: Arizona 2010?
My status was complete, then commitee review. I got a "Why Arizona?" email while still in review and responded with a quick half page email. About five days later my status was update to admitted. 162, 3.4 (4.0)
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
