Congrats on the admit. Are you sure you're not a resident? I'm in a similar situation (I grew up in AZ and left for post-grad work) and they told me that I am a resident for tuition purposes, even though I've been gone for two years. ASU, on the other hand, says I'm not a resident, by the way.

You might check it out, if you haven't already.

I checked quite a few times. My main downfall was registering a vehicle in another state and not paying Arizona state taxes. (Also, the only times I have been in the state in the past 6 years have been for visits of 10 days or less... not an official disqualifier, but it doesn't help.)

Still have my AZ license though - got to love the 2052 expiration date.

Very strange. I am a 1L at ASU (I had a very similar situation) and got resident tuition at ASU. UA gave it to me and then revoked it months later (just a warning!).

I was very surprised, and somewhat outraged, when they told me that. It pretty much took ASU off of my list.

I'm currently a 1L at the U of A. If you guys have any questions about the admissions process or the school itself, I'd be happy to answer them. I'm also a Tucson native, so if you have questions about the city I can answer those too. :) Good luck!

For those admitted, did they give any indication on when scholly info would come out?

How do you like the school?

How is the faculty (helpful/inaccessible/etc)?

What do you hear/see of 2 and 3L's with regard to concentrations?

Best burrito north of 22nd?

Did anyone else get a solicitation yesterday for a short statement about why you applied to Arizona? I responded last night but thought that this was interesting to say the least. Anyone else?

I've been complete since 10/29...I'm a URM, 160, 3.4. It's looking more and more like I may choose to stay in Tucson...what do you guys think about my scholly prospects??

Maybe they want to know how serious you are before admitting you? My numbers are lower and I got in without the essay. Maybe the just want to see how likely you are to ditch them if you get admitted elsewhere.

My status checker just changed to "Committee Review 1/14/10" from "complete." At least I know my application is being looked at but has anyone else got this?

Haven't gotten that as of 5 minutes ago. I've been complete since 10/29 and think I'm more or less an auto-admit....when did you go complete?

Yes. Received the request on Wednesday night and sent in a response mid-day on Thursday. I assumed that it might have something to do with my total lack of connections to the state, but I really have no idea.

I also noticed that yesterday, after I sent in my response, my status changed to something about being in committee review. I guess we shall see. I hope I made my response long enough--I didn't have a lot of time to put it together.

Crazy. I went complete 11/25 but still have my status as "Application Complete."

According to someone who spoke with the admissions office about a week ago, while the app status is at "complete" it's actually being reviewed by the committee. Those who have been accepted went straight from complete to admit. I'm thinking committee review may be their secondary reviewing status? That's what I'm hoping as I'm still at complete (and was complete quite early). Guess we'll see.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
