Not so sure that it is YP based on other posts in this thread. It's more than clear now that if you're white and OOS New Mexico can hardly be considered a super safety despite it's low medians.

You know it's kind of funny, you'd think most schools would prefer to get the extra out of state bucks.

Yeah but some state schools give alot of preference to in state residents. I've heard UNLV is another school that really favors those in its own state.

This is a question for any of you soon to be UNM law students who are currently employed. How close to orientation start date are you going to continue working full time? I'm trying to figure out what day I am going to make my last. I have a few options: One being a pretty good check from cashing in all my annual leave if I work to the very last moment. The other is cash out part and take some of that time to rest before school. Not sure what to do....

Are you familiar with Albq and the area? If I go to UNM I'll move there in late July and enjoy the town and the friends I have up there for a few weeks before school. But I'm also a New Mexico native and feel comfortable with the area. If you are out of state maybe you want more time to scope out the area and get used to things. Albq has a unique culture with all the Native American stuff around. It is very interesting and if you aren't familiar with it might be worth you spending a little free time learning about it.

I'm a local. A life-long resident. Just trying to decide what will be more rewarding in the ling run... more cash, or a bit of a break before school starts! I'm contemplating a vacation prior to school, but I know having the cash when I become a broke college kid all over again will be nice!

I need a little break so I'm only working until the first week in August, but my boss already knows so he has plenty of notice. I may regret not taking more of a break...

Has anyone received financial aid info yet? I have received info from every other school I was accepted to except UNM.

It should be in your Lobo account. You have to set up a NetID account which is different than your law school student account. Kind of a pain in the ass the way they do it. I set it up and it does have my financial aid stuff in there. I had to take this 25 minute online course about federal student loans (I think it is required). I printed off a copy of it as a proof.

I am in the process of trying to get ahold of Carol Cravens to ask if there is anything I need to send in for financial aid because I got an email two weeks ago saying I had to complete a few things within 30 days to be eligible for my financial aid. UNM is the only school to send me this info as LSU and Arkansas did not send me that type of email.

I went to loboweb and there is info, but there isn't anything under the "accept award" tab. I guess I'll shoot her an e-mail as well.

That is odd that there is nothing under your award Tab. Undermine is the amount it will cost to attend and the amount I was awarded, basically identical numbers. Good luck with contacting her, I'm still trying to get a hold of her. Will call her in about 10 minutes again.

LOL, I am not sure how to describe myself. I am on the UNMSOL Class of 2013 Facebook group page, Monica Davis. If you are not a member of the page, you should join. I think we have around 63 members, all who are attending in the fall.

See you there! :D

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
