lsat is below 25%, gpa a little over 25%, so it's a reach, correct?

I got into NYU with a 3.5/172 on a retake, not URM. Everyone claims that NYU averages its LSATs so I had written it off my chances (my average would be a 168). It also took until late march for me to be offered admission.

I got in at the tail end of the full-tuition scholarship consideration stage, so I would like to think that my supplemental scholarship consideration essay was what got me the admit (even though I was not invited to interview).

Yale and Harvard

LSAT: 165/167 GPA:3.92
URM: Y

Apllied super late, think right on the deadline with the lower LSAT score (I got the 167 in Feb). Only sent the apps in as a joke esp since I was waitlisted from lower schools.

lol let her dream! she might work harder cause of it.

either ways congrats amadap!
Actually I think the reason I was admitted was because of my personal statement. I wrote about how I had a child before I graduated from high school, and another while at Berkeley without any time off. I raised them as a single mother. And I wrote a GPA addendum explaining why I had below average grades the semester I had my daughter, and how I have gotten straight A pluses for the last 2 years, while working and doing volunteer work.
Ha! Take that! You go Amadap!

Does every thread have to devolve into a fight over URM status. If you don't like the URM thing just remember 70% of the seats in law school are still going to White people. Can we just be civil in these threads.

Dude..you are going to those schools with a 165? Are you kidding me? That's STUPID. You should easily get into a tier 3 here in LA or OC..I know you can get into a better school.

Southwestern Law is the Reach

GPA: 3.2
LSAT: 151
URM: I don't know if Armenian is considered a URM in Los Angeles anymore.
What got me in: Persistence.

Usually this wouldn't be a reach, but if you look at LSN..they've been denying and wait-listing people with 158's and 3.2's.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
