University of South Carolina!

Post by sarlis » Sat Dec 26, 2009 1:41 pm

I got in a while ago, anyone else?

When is scholly info coming out?

Also, the only other thread I saw for USC was last years one. So I figured I would start a new thread for this years class!

be happy to answer any basic Q's about the city.
I heard that Columbia is a college town (the parts around campus anyway). What did you think of the area where the school is located?

I'll throw my $.02 in as well. Got accepted to USC Law in December - waiting to hear about $$. I'm a USC Alum (graduated last May) and have lived here for 22 years so I'd be happy to answer any questions about the area etc....

There's a part on the application that asks for a (separate) attachment for your academic scholarships, your employment, your extracurriculars, etc. and then they ask for a resume. Is all this necessary?

Not yet, since they haven;t come out with scholly offers yet.

Maybe someone from a previous cycle could answer more.

I applied to South Carolina and I just sent my resume as all those things were present on it. Seemed like overkill to send them in separate attachments and then send the resume which had, basically, the same exact "stuff" on it.

Got a nice little white envelope with an acceptance letter enclosed today!
I got the same notification of consideration for scholarship as posted above. The plot thickens...

columbia's not just a college town. with the new mcnair building across from the capitol, the vista for us older folk, and five points for the younger, columbia is for everyone. though not as big as your typical capital city, columbia has a lot to offer

For bars, yea. That's about all you'll find in Five Points--well, there are some shops, but that doesn't really count for a nightlife. I admit I don't get out into the Vista much, but from what I've seen/heard I'm not missing much else. I'm probably not the best person to take advice from about Columbia, though. I hate this city and can't wait to get out.

@grobbelski I will point out we've been around longer than that other USC, though.
