LR is my weakest section...on LG and RC i miss a combined max of 6...usually less.
i took the powerscore prep course from oct-dec. am self-studying now. i have read all the bibles. but LR is still giving me trouble....i can miss anywhere from 7-16 on the two combined sections of LR

do you guys have any tips for improving that section? thanks!

With the huge curve, I wish I decided to do that December re-take instead of Feb :(.

I think last year's Feb. curve was a -9. But I haven't seen a curve as high as this one since the tests in the 30's with the near-impossible LG sections. It seems like LSAC finally made the LR section a bit too hard for the time frame, hence the ultra-generous curve. I'm guessing they'll correct it for February, especially since it's undisclosed and the curve will go back to being tighter. I could kind of sense this was coming based on the LR section in September (first section harder, second section normal). I'm guessing LG was a touch easier than September and RC about the same.

I do really wish I took December now because I always own the PT's with the generous curves even if one section is particularly difficult.

Took PT 46 on Saturday. Not sure what I can take away from these PTs as I have taken them all before. No real choice though as I went through most of them in previous prep. Still it was my 1st LSAT PT in a while so anyways...

PT 46: 176 (-4)

RC (-0)
LR (-1)
LG exp from PT 21 (-3)
LG (-1)
LR (-2)

Nice. I'm having my PT from Saturday scanned tomorrow. Will find out how I did, what I got wrong and what test it actually is (it's kind of nice not knowing because then I don't know what to expect; especially since I'm re-doing a lot of tests; luckily I don't remember 99% of the questions).

I'm getting December as a PT sometime before the February test, so now I'm curious to see what happens with that one.

Question about retaking the test in February...are you guys applying for 2010 or 2011?

I'm disappointed with my December score (only a 2 point improvement from June). I'd like to retake in Feb, but I'm not sure how schools will treat a score that arrives so late in the cycle. Any thoughts?

Even though I took the Sept, Dec and going to take the Feb LSAT, my plan all along was to apply for 2011. There is still some value in retaking in Feb for people applying this cycle though- u might get pulled off waitlists or get more $$$ if u score higher

I'm applying this cycle, but I'm re-taking from the September test and my applications are already sent. If your applications are already out, it probably doesn't matter, although a lot of schools will hold your applications until after the February test, so be forwarned that it may put a huge "hold" on your cycle (as it's done for mine and which I'm not terribly happy with).

Hold my applications until after the Feb. scores are released? That's terrible. I'd rather not wait until the very end of the cycle. Not sure what to do now. So disappointed in my December score

I agree. But I think in the long run, it would be better for me to try and improve my score and have to wait until the end of the cycle than not re-take (I only had a 162 and probably should have gotten a 164-165 based on my PT's and screwing up the easiest LG on the entire September test).

do schools see as soon as we register for the LSAT? contemplating June if that's the case.
I don't know. I put it on all of my applications since I registered before I applied. If you applied already I have no clue if they see it or not.

I know I just posted my results from Saturday but I actually just finished taking PT 47 and finished with another score in the mid-170s :)

PT 47: 174 (-6)

LR1 (-2)
RC (-3)
LG experimental from PT 22: (-0)
LR2 (-1)
LG (-0)

My plan is to take a PT every other day, going through them in order from PT 46 to the december 2009 lsat (PT 59). I will take a one week break from Jan 4-10 (going to Cabo!) and then buckle down until Feb 1st before taking the last few days off just to relax a bit.

This thread might start becoming more active as more people start thinking about retaking. Good luck, fellow Feb LSATers!

Got my Saturday test scored today. PT49.

RC: -3
LR1: -5
LR2: -3
LG: -1
(RC Experimental: -6; no clue what test it was from)
Raw Score: 88
Scaled Score: 168

Great start to my re-take studying (and I'd be totally happy with this in Feb). Will probably do another PT this Saturday and do some work in the bibles in between now and then.

have you memorized all the flaw types and do you completely understand logic (some and most train stuff)?

Any idea how I can raise my scores I had 140s for my first test. English is not my native language......I need a decent school. So ideas of pushing the 140s into 160s?

I am in it too. Got a 156. Need to raise 10 pts or more. Was pt'ing at 165-170. I bombed RC and so need to work on that section.

I am in as well. I received a 160 which is not going to cut it. Tanked RC with a -12 and a -13 on both LR. I was PTing a lot higher so I need to bear down for the month ahead.

why did you get 140s? Did you not finish the test, or got a lot wrong? what was the main problem for you? English is not my native language neither but I have had 15 years of practice so maybe I can try to give you some advice. Feel free to PM me if you don't want to tell me your numbers/breakdown openly.

This is a prime example of how people lie on this board.

He said he received a 160 with the following:

RC: -12
LR: -13
LR: -13
LG: ????? (Lets assume -0)

Total wrong: 38
Total correct: 63

This would be a score of 154 for December 2009 LSAT.

If he is referring to September 2009 LSAT his score would be: 153.

how pathetic.

-13 on both LR can very well mean 37/50. Not sure why you wouldn't assume that first.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
